At 13, Trinity had seen the dregs of humanity. Then Academy team lead Cormac O'Connell pulled her out and gave her a new life, and a new family. Now, at 17, no trace of the girl she'd been was left. She has a family she loves and a best friend to drive her nuts, but no boyfriend, because Trinity doesn't do boys.
Then Kaiden Nash shows up at school. He's cute and charming and every girl in school is panting after him. It's Trinity, though, that captures his interest. Trinity doesn't want anything to do with him but Kaiden won't take no for an answer. Kaiden worms his way into Trinity's good graces, and a date, before long.
It becomes obvious very quickly that Cormac and the other members of the O'Connell team don't trust Kaiden but the girls insist that they're only being overprotective. As Trinity and Kaiden get closer, the boys seem more uncomfortable around him and the usually sweet Xavier gets nastier by the day. When he starts pulling away from Trinity entirely, she's hurt. Having Kaiden, having a boyfriend, makes her happy but it's tearing up her family. Then, there's Kaiden's odd and extreme interest in her family. Her world is out of control and she doesn't know which way to turn.
The little swan needs to unravel the tangles before everything around her shatters.
