Midnight. The full moon was shining brightly down the forest of Almyr. A shadow flashed through the thick foliage of the trees then disappeared before appearing just at the edge of the village of Srinha.
The clouds covered the moon, making the whole village seem to get darker. Satisfied, the shadow stepped out into the open revealing the well-known vampire, Reyli.
Reyli snuck silently to the Chief's stone hut and entered through the window. She hunted for the Chief's daughter which was cuddled under the warm blankets. She opened her mouth, showing her fangs, then hesitated.
She picked the baby up and crawled out the the hut. The baby started to cry. It's cries woke the village and made the villagers look out the window. But Reyli was gone and so was the baby.
The whole village looked for the missing baby. They saw one of the many blankets that belonged to the chief. Beside it were tracks of a human. They found the baby but they were too late.
