It was weird today. It's usually pretty cold here in Tennessee. Well at least it was most of the time. I felt really hot and could feel sweat on my back. The weather can't make it's mind up about how it wants to be.

I looked out my window and scrunched my eyes. When I had woken up this morning, the curtain was open. I never open my curtains, dreading that I will forget to close them and accidentally moon some people while getting dressed.

"How the hell does this stuff happen?"

I asked myself closing the curtain and walking out to the kitchen.

Today was a cereal, egg and vodka day. It was to early for this weird shit to start happening.

I opened the fridge and grabbed my ingredients of milk and eggs. I set the stuff on the table and went back to shut the fridge door.

"Holy.." It was already shut.

What the hell?!

I backed up slowly and turned around, only to come face to face with dark green eyes! I shut my eyes tight and thrust my fist out. There was a grunt and I opened my eyes to see my friend holding his chest and trying not to laugh.

"Gah! Jesus Christ, Finn!" I ran my fingers through my hair, frustrated.

He couldn't hold in the laughter any more and started to almost laugh hysterically, holding onto the counter.

"Wow Red! You should of seen your face! You look like-" he paused to laugh some more.

Finally he took a deep breath an answered with a few more snickers.

"-like an Asian with a bad sneeze!"

"That's one of the most racist statements I've ever heard." I sighed.

Yeah, so my mom was born in Japan and my dads from Ireland, weirdest combination ever. It did jack up my appearance though. I was tall like my mom and had the face as if I was born in Japan too. But my hair was naturally more towards the dirty blond side and my eyes were hazel. To top it off I had no accent of any kind. It actually made me feel pretty weird.

I looked like I was manually put together. What made it worse was my name. Red Dempsey, yes Red was really my name, not a nickname.

"Whatchya making Red?" Finn said peering into my cabinets.

I ignored his question and wanted to know how he go into my house. I closed the cabinet in his face and crossed my arms.

"You know your lucky I'm not beating the crap out of you right now? What the heck are you doing here?! How did you even get in?" I exclaimed.

He looked back at me as if I was the stupidest person he's ever met. After a second he sighed and dug into his pocket pulling out a pair of keys.

"A little thing called a spare that you personally gave me." He dangled them in my face.

I swatted his hand away and groaned.

I forgot I gave him those. We are in college currently and Finn lives on campus with a few other guys. I preferred to stay away from people and have my peace at home.

"So I have a proposition for you." Finn said leaning on the counter.

I picked at my egg and dreaded anything he was about to say. Usually when Finn gets an idea or something, it most likely involves his idiot sister. I shudder at the thought of her. Duffy Isaac is probably the oddest girl I have ever met.

"Please tell me this isn't about you trying to get me with the panda is it?"

Finn glared at me and shook his head, looking away. I know for a fact he's hiding a smile.

"Come on man, you know you wanna laugh at that. Do it." I coaxed.

Finn shook his head hard and covered his mouth with one hand. He continued with out looking at me, I could hear the smile in his voice.

"Don't call her that, it's not nice. I was just wondering, since its the weekend, if you would be willing to go with me and Duffy to Maggie Moos." He finally looked at me.

"I know you love that place and its been a while since we were able to go. I thought you'd might actually like to enjoy something in your life for a hour or two." Finn smiled.

I whined and chewed on the inside of my cheek. I really wanted to go!...but I don't wanna go with her. She'd probably get us kicked out of the place with her weirdness! The thought of the ice cream kept rolling around my mind. It was calling for me!

I slammed my palms on the counter with determination.

"Fine! I will do it for the ice cream, nothin more! You understand?" I glared at Finn and got out of my chair.

I felt a sudden wash of anger and practically threw my plate of unfinished eggs into the sink. I passed a tight mouthed Finn and went to my room to change. Remember Red, you're doing this for the ice cream.
