New School

I tie up my h/c in a plait and put on my purple blazer. First day of the Phoenix Academy and I look *sigh* terrible. The blazer is a size too big and the skirt is really long. "I hate skirts" I mutter to myself.
"Y/n hurry up or you'll be late!" My mum shouts.
"Ok ok I'm coming," I say as I go downstairs wishing it was Saturday. I eat breakfast and finish getting ready. I give my mum a peck on the cheek, say goodbye and start walking to school.
When I arrive at the school I walk over to the information desk, the woman looks up at me. "Hello there, you must be new here. What's your name?"
"Y/n l/n" I say shyly.
"Alright y/n here's your locker number and your schedule. Would you like a little tour?"
"Yes please,"
A boy with blonde hair walks by.
"GARROTH! Come here please!" The woman behind the desk shouts at him. He walks over nervously.
"Garroth would you be so kind as to give y/n here a tour?"
"Oh! Yeah, sure." He says probably relieved that he wasn't in trouble.
"Follow me then," he turns to me and motions for me to walk with him. He shows me the whole school and we end the tour by the music room. I fall in love with it immediately and Garroth notices this. He asks to see my schedule and locker number.
"We have the same classes except you have Irish and I have Latin. We even have the same free period!" He exclaims.
"Wow some coincidence," I say laughing at his excitement.
"Umm.. Y/n?
"Yeah?"
"You're actually my first friend"
"I-I am? B-but your so friendly."
"I'm actually the shyest person here," he says chuckling at my reaction. I start laughing too. The bell rings and we head to maths.
The teacher walks in, "good morning class I'm Mrs. Donna and I'll be your maths teacher for the year," she says. She seems nice. I'm sitting next to Garroth and another girl with long fiery hair and blue eyes. "So it's the start of the year there are many new students so I'll be assigning projects and I'll pick the groups so you can get to know one another."
"Great," Garroth muttered under his breath. I have a feeling this is not going to be good.
" The first group is Cadenza, Garroth and y/n. The second group is Dante, Lucinda and Kyle. The third group is Laurance, Alexis and Levin." Mrs Donna continues to call out the groups but I'm not listening. I'm too busy looking for the girl Cadenza. Someone taps me on my shoulder and I turn around to see the girl with the fiery hair.
"Hi, you must be y/n. I'm Cadenza." She smiles at me.
"Yeah I guess we're partners for the project," I say shyly. I look at Garroth, he's staring at his hands.
"Garroth. Earth to Garroth." I say waving my hand in front of his face. He snaps his head up.
"Oh. Umm.... Sorry y/n. I'm just not good with group work." He says quietly. Cadenza gasps.
"Y-y-you got him to talk to you!" Garroth looks at her.
" I talk........sometimes," he says to her. "Oh no" I think.
"Now that you're in your groups, you can start the project. It will be due for next Monday. Off you go." Mrs. Donna says to the class.
We work on the project until the end of class. By the time the bell rings we are almost done. Cadenza isn't that bad actually she's really nice and super funny.
I have Irish, Garroth has Latin and Cadenza has a free period now so we go our separate ways. I got a bit lost on the way and bumped into a boy.
"Oh my Irene! I'm so sorry! I wasn't looking where I was going." I apologise.
"No, no I'm sorry I didn't see you there," he says. I sigh, I should ask for directions to the Irish class.
"You wouldn't happen to know where the Irish class is, do you?" I ask. Hopefully he does. He chuckles.
" I just so happen to be going there. I'll let you tag along if you want." He says jokingly.
"Hey! Not funny I'm really lost."
"OK but I actually do have Irish now so I can show you the way. Unless you want to go your own way?"
" I'll follow you. I'm y/n by the way."
"Well y/n it's nice to meet you. I'm Laurance. I see your quite friendly with my sister, Cadenza." We are at the door to the class.
"You're Cadenza's brother?" He laughs at my reaction.
"Yeah," he says. We walk into class and find the only free seats. I'm sitting next to Laurance.
TIME SKIP
It's our free period, last class of the day. I am waiting for Garroth to get here. I'm playing music on my phone with my headphones on. Without me realising Garroth has come up behind me. "Hey y/n,"he says. I get such a fright that I fall off the chair I'm sitting on. He laughs at me. "Sorry! Didn't mean to scare you."
"Well you did,"
"So y/n do you want to go to this new café that opened, later today? It would give us a chance to get to know each other better."
"Yeah! What time?"
"Around 5:30?"
"Sounds great," I say. I'm so excited to see the new café. I wonder what it's like? The bell goes and we head to our lockers I'm locker 479, Cadenza is locker 478 and Garroth is locker 480. I put back my books since I got all my homework done in the free period, say bye to Cadenza and Garroth and I head home.

(A/N) Hey guys I'm so excited to do this book. I hope you enjoy it. I'm not sure how often I'll update because of school but I'll post every Saturday and Sunday if I can.
