I rolled over in bed and shut of the alarm that was blaring from my phone. I layed there for a second and sighed. Sometimes I just wish I could bury myself in the covers and never leave. Then I wouldn't have to go to school with those awful people. Of course, I ended up rolling out of bed and walking into my closet. I decided on a red AC/DC shirt, dark skinny jeans, and combat boots. I walked down stairs as I pulled my hair into a pony tale.

After eating breakfast, and brushing my teeth, and all that jazz, my dad and I went out to his impala and I got in the passenger seat. I have a driver's license but dad refuses to let me drive the impala and I haven't gotten a car yet. Hopefully I'll get one soon.

I walked into the school with my head down. As I neared my locker I prayed that no unwanted company would be there but, of course, they weren't answered. Leaning with her back against my locker and her slim arms crossed was Amber. Her boyfriend, Josh, was leaning his weight on his shoulder on the locker next to mine. Standing with the two of them was, Ashley, Katie, Nick, Tyler, and Brad. This was the crew of people that insist on ruining my life. I'm bullied and teased by everyone at the school but this group is the worst.

I sighed, knowing that even if I turned around and just went to class without my books they would follow me and it would probably be worse then if I just dealt with it here. I walked over to my locker and Amber smirked deviously.

"Look who we have here." She sneered.

"Could you move? You're in my way." I said ignoring her with an eye roll. I felt something collide with my face and stumbled some.

"Watch your tone when you're talking to my girlfriend, bitch." Josh bit.

"I'm not the bitch. That'd be your girlfriend." I said stupidly. I don't know what it was about that day, but everything I learned about keeping my mouth shut and let them do whatever it was they wanted to do just slipped away from me and I was being an idiot. He punched me again, harder this time. People were watching laughing at me as I stumbled back. Suddenly the fear and shyness came back to me and I closed myself in.

"I'm sorry." I whispered.

"Yeah. You better be." Amber bit angrily. I just looked down.

"You're so ugly." Ashley sneered from beside her friends.

"And fat." Katie laughed. Brad stepped close to me and I gulped, looking up into his brown eyes, nervously. He smirked.

"I don't know, her body's kinda nice." He said running his fingers through my hair. I almost gagged and swatted his hands away. His creepy smile turned into a scowl and his eyes turned icy cold. He shoved me into a locker and his fist collided with my face.

"Bitch!" He shouted, punching me again. He kept doing it. What's up with them today? I had wondered. They weren't normally like this, but, I mean, it did gradually get worse every day, this is probably going to seem like nothing next month.

"Hey! Leave her alone you ass!" someone shouted pushing Brad off of me, causing me to fall to the floor.

"Stay out of this." Nick sneered they guy. He was fit. He looked like he could easily take out the other guys and obviously the girls, hell, I could take out the girls, I just don't because of the guys.

"Leave her alone, or I will make sure you wish you were never born." The guys said. His words were icy cold and hard, but very very calm. They sent shivers up my spine. The group all glanced at each other. Then Josh growled.

"Come on. Let's get away from these freaks." He said. The girls scoffed and the guys grunted as they stalked away.

The guy held out a hand and I took it. He lifted me to my feet and I brushed myself off.

"Thanks. I appreciate that, I really do, but you you shouldn't have done that. You just ruined yourself. Even if they won't dare fight you they'll find other ways to make you miserable and it'll be my fault." I sighed.

"I don't give a shit about them. Or popularity or that other crap. It won't matter in a few years. Don't stress about it." He said, his words now soft and kind.

"Thank you. I'm Madison Winchester." I said with a smile.

"Ryder Singer." He replied. He was very handsome. Like I said before, he was fit, and he had soft blue eyes that, if I could, I would share into forever, and longish, brown hair.

"Do those ass holes mess with you every day?" He asked. I nodded sadly.

"Yup." I said.

"Wow. What jerks."

"Yeah... Are you new here?" I asked.

"Yeah, my dad and I just moved here, he wanted to live closer to some people he's really close too but hasn't seen in forever." Ryder explained.

"That's nice, where are you from?" I asked.

"Soux Falls, South Dakota." He said.

"Oh cool! My Dad's have a friend that lives down there that they haven't seen in a while!" I exclaimed.

"What a coincidence, who knows maybe your Dad's know mine... Wait, dad's?" He asked. My face turned bright red. I'm not ashamed of having gay parents, it's just that one of the main reason people bully me is because I have two dad's. I slowly nodded looking down.

"That's so cool! What's it like?" He asked. I looked up surprised.

"Uh, it's, uh, fine, I guess, I don't rally know any other, uh, life besides that one, so, ya know." I stumbled over my words taken off guard.

"Wow, well we should head to class, what do you have first?" He asked.

"AP English II." I said.

"Two? You're a sophomore? I thought you were a senior." He laughed. I laughed too.

"I've never gotten that, normally people think I'm younger, are. You a senior?" I asked. He nodded.

"Yup. Well let me walk you to class once you get your books." He said.

"Oh, no, it's okay." I said.

"I insist. Can't let those guys make your eye any worse." He said.

"What?!" I asked rushing to open my locker and look in the small mirror, sure enough my eye was super black, blue, and purple.

"No no no no no no no." I said quickly. I brushed my fingers against it and flinched. Just the slightest touch stung.

"My Dad's cannot see this." I stressed.

"Why? It's not like you did anything wrong." Ryder frowned.

"Yeah, but they will kill someone. The staff for not knowing and then everyone in the school." I said. I was being dramatic but they would explode.

"Dad would start screaming at everyone and probably get into a fight with the guys. Papa would take down the school for not knowing what was going on, and then they would never leave my side. They're very protective of me." I said.

"It can't be that bad." Ryder said. I turned.

"It can." I said. The bell rang and I realized the hall was empty.

"Shit! I made you late I'm so sorry!" I exclaimed.

"No worries, I'm new, this is a big school, I'll say I got lost. Go cover it up in the bathroom and I'll wait here so I can walk you to class." He said.

"I don't want to do that to you." I siged.

"Maddison, just go." He said. I sighed and went into the bathroom right next to where we were. I dug for some foundation but couldn't find any. I walked out.

"I'm screwed, my foundation is at home." I said. He took his hoodie off and tossed it to me.

"Just keep the hood on when you get home until you can get to your room to cover it." He said. I smiled.

"Thank you so much." I said. He nodded.

"No problem." He said. I got stuff from my locker and let him walk me to class.
