Twisted Fate

Chapter 1

I woke up with a start to my blaring alarm clock. I dragged my feet out of my warm, inviting bed, and trudged to my bathroom to take a much needed shower. I stripped my clothing off and stepped into the shower and starting washing my body with my favorite scented honey soap.

I got out and quickly pulled on my clothes I had set out the night before, and dabbed on some mascara. "Lexi, hurry up or you'll be late for school!" my mom hollered from the bottom of the wooden staircase. "Alright mom, be down in a minute!" I shouted back. I grabbed my black toms and sprinted down the stairs.

As I walked into the kitchen, my mother asked, "Honey, are you ready for the first day of school?"

"Yes ma'am, I'm heading out right now, bye!" called back.

I walked over to my gorgeous red Mustang and hopped in. As I turned out of the pack house driveway I zoomed of to my school of weres... weres as in werewolves.

When I got to school, I parked in my usual spot. I hopped out and took my phone out my pocket to call one of my best friends, Payton, to ask where she was. She picked up within two rings.

"Hey Lex! I was just about to call you," She chirped.

"Hey, I was just gonna ask where you were," I stated.

"Oh I'm right up at the front waiting for you."

And with that I ended the call and starting trekking across the parking lot towards Payton. Payton is one of few people that actually give a crap about me.

Since I was born with a dormant gene, I can't shift or even sense my wolf at all. The worst part is that everybody in the pack knows and everybody picks on me because of it.

I reached Payton and said quickly, "We better hurry the bells about ring."

"Alright, come on," She said with a sad smile on her face.

We walked into the school and braced ourselves for the bullying to come.
