Chapter 3

There before me stood a tanned brown haired blue eyed hottie. I was so shocked by his words that I just stood there frozen and gaping like a stupid fish.

"So what's your name?"

His musical voice filled my ears, and it took a moment for me to realize his question.

"Oh um um... Lexi Smith and y-yours?"

Really Lexi? Come on now don't stutter, you got this.

He flashed me the most heart melting smile and said, "Jake Knight."

While he was saying that, I took my time and decided to take in his profile. His brown hair was spiked at the front and he was wearing a long sleeve plaid shirt with a pair of dark washed jeans. Man, did he look like he was sculpted by angels!

Once I got back up to his face I noticed he was done talking and was watching me check him out. I flushed a deep red and looked down and my feet praying he didn't see me blush.

What a minute why the heck is he being so nice to me? Shouldn't he be rejecting me now? Should I tell him I have a dormant gene?! I came to a decision not to afraid that he would reject me.

"You're not from the Blood Moon pack are you?" I questioned.

"No I'm from Lockheart pack and you're in luck because I'm the soon to be alpha," he smirked.

Crap, he's an alpha?! He's sure to reject me once he finds out. And if he's not for my pack what he doing all the way over here? Deciding to voice my thoughts I said, "Then what are you doing all the way over here?"

"My pack has by recently attacked by rogues, and I was scouting out to see if there was any more."

Before I could reply he swiftly strode to me, and intertwined our fingers with a soft smile on his face. I felt sparks ignite when our finger tips touch, and it created a nice warm feeling it the pit of my stomach.

Over the past three and a half hours we just talked about your lives, but I made sure to leave out the fact that I can't shift. I found out that he is starting as a new student at the high school that I go to.

I checked my phone and realized it was already 5:30. My mom is gonna kill me! The school also probably called my mother to tell her a was absent, so I better get home and fast.

"Hey, Jake I gotta get going," I said. I didn't know whether I should stay and wait for a good bye hug or not.

"Alright, see ya."

I figured that was it so I turned around and started walking back to the schooled parking lot to get my car, but was interrupted by Jake's rough, warm hand touching my arm. I turned around to see him smirking at me.

"Don't a get a hug?" he teased.

I blushed madly, I was a fool for thinking he wouldn't want one.

"Oh right, of course." I replied. Then I stood on my tippy toes and wrapped my arms around his neck and his strong arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me into his tight embrace. I pulled away with a big, silly grin and my face, "Bye, see you at school!" I yelled as I walked away. I heard his reply, but I was so flabbergasted that I had actually found my mate.

I reached my sports car and hopped in. As I pulled into my driveway I thought to myself 'oh Lord I'll have to face my mother' and with that I dragged my feet to the front door. I walked into my house to smell that my mother was cooking brownies so I peeked into the kitchen only to find she wasn't in there. 'oh well' I thought and shrugged my shoulders. I walked into my turquoise and yellow room and saw my mom sitting on my Victoria's Secret bed spread.

'Whoop di freaking do' I thought. Here we go.....
