This book takes place after the fight in realix, meaning that after the summer it's season 3. Seasons 1-2 happened like in the show.

The meeting with Ms. F was nothing out of the ordinary, she filled the Winx in on the prophecy, the legend of the rainbow, and the group accepted the mission. They had to find the Rainbow Princess; the task seemed simple enough, like a walk through the park compared to their past two years at Alfea. The Winx left to their room as the night came in and the day washed away.

It became a routine, just like anything else would; wake up, work, learn a bit about the Rainbow Princess, and go back to sleep. Every day the same, nothing changing.

As night came as it always did Flora sat upright in her bed as she glanced towards Bloom. "I'm really worried about you, Bloom, you've been talking in your sleep much more than normal." Flora thought in her head as she watched her friend twist and turn. "Ever since Ms. F mentioned the Rainbow Princess I'm wondering if she has anything to do with this."

"Now every time I look at the rainbow in the sky my head hurts, although it probably doesn't mean anything." Flora thought shrugging it off, "Besides today is July 27th, the day rumored that the Rainbow Princess is supposed to come back on." Flora tried to close her eyes and go back to sleep, yet she wasn't able to, getting up she sighed deciding to go check on her plants, since sleeping didn't seem like an option.

"The Winx may have locked us up in the Omega Dimension but," Icy said with a smirk "I think they forgot that I love ice!"

"Icy it's freezing down here, let's just get out of this place," Stormy said shivering from the cold "you may love the ice, but I sure don't."

"Not yet Stormy," Icy said glaring at her sister, "remember the plan?"

"Screw the plan! It can't be pulled off," Darcy said "and we all know that, let's just go!"

"Not yet," Icy said, "a little longer; besides it's July 27th at this exact minute and the world seems exactly the same if you ask me."

"Today is my birthday," the girl said to herself quietly as she played with her necklace, it was a tradition for her to stay up till the time she was born and blow out a candle and make a wish. "Alright I have the candle and my cupcake of course, because I've got to save the cake for my party. Alright here goes nothing," the mystery unnamed girl blows out candle and makes a wish. Yet the second she did everything went dark, "what is going on, why is everything black?" Her voice echoed as the darkness over took her vision.

Flora was checking on her flowers, trying to calm her restless mind, when suddenly someone crashed onto her. Automatically her reflexes made her defensive, she sparked her magic ready to attack whoever was behind her. Yet when she turned around and saw that it was just a girl, although it seemed as if the girl was unconscious. Flora quickly called the headmistress to her location, worried for the girl.

Ms. F arrived at the greenhouse furious, and you could tell just by the look on her face and the way she walked, as Ms. F picked up the unconscious girl she muttered under her breath, "why couldn't you wait until after the rainbow princess had arrived?"

Flora arrived back to her own room exhausted and ready to go to sleep. Yet before she could do any of that she was crushed into a hug by the Winx.

"Flora where were you, we were so worried," Bloom said looking at her in worry, "when I woke up and saw your bed empty I got so worried. Where were you?"

Flora took a deep breath and started to explain what happened. "You see I couldn't sleep so I went to go check on my flowers, then suddenly out of nowhere this girl fell on me. She was unconscious so I don't know much about her, but I do know that Ms. F was not happy that she just showed up out of nowhere."

"So," Aisha asked, "she doesn't think that this girl is the lost princess?"

Nope," Flora said, "I think Ms. F thought that if she were the rainbow princess it would have been obvious, but I mean she looked just like a regular girl. Anyways as much as I'd love to stay and chat, I'm exhausted, goodnight Winx."
