What have I ever done to have deserved this? Why have I been through all this? And why won't it stop? I've never hurt anyone, but everyone has hurt me. You must be guessing.. "what has she been through?" "what's her story?" well.. here it is.

My name is Carolina Connor. I'm 16, and currently in senior high. I've never been that person everyone like'd to hang out with. In fact, I'm that person no one likes to hang out with. It all started when I was in first grade.

"Why are you crying mommy?" I continuously asked. 3 things were going through my mind as I watched the tears rapidly streaming down her face. Why was she crying at midnight? Why isn't she telling me? And why wasn't daddy here yet? There was nothing I could do about it because mom wasn't replying..

I remember waking up in my cold room previously after a hideous nightmare. I craved my mother's warm hugs after that, just like any child my age. So I got off the bed, rubbing my eyes to clear my vision as it was blurred due to the tears, and walked through the hall across the staircase towards my mother's room. When I did, I heard a quiet conversation, but I didn't hear his voice. Mom must have been on the phone.. Only seconds later, I was shocked with sudden cries echoing through the path leading upstairs. I quickly changed my direction and made my way downstairs, and that was when I saw her, practically devasted on the cold kitchen floor. And that was when I began asking her. She gently wrapped her arms around me and sat me on her lap and sobbed on my little shoulder. "Where's daddy?" I asked after a fair few minutes. In response, she lifted her head and gave me a sweet smile, yet her eyes were filled with pain, and tears. "He's not coming home tonight sweety.." I was quite puzzled. Why wasn't he coming home tonight? Where else was he going to sleep?

"Why? Where is he? When is daddy going to come back?" I needed an answer to all of those questions that moment. All mom did was stand up, hold my hand, and walk me to my room where she tucked me in bed again. And before her eyes parted mine, she said "He won't be back in quite a while darling.. Ill let you know when he calls." And with that, I was left in the dark room, again. Clueless.
