"Yo, Kailoni!" a familiar voice shouted.
"What you want, Max ?"said Kailoni.
"Why you ain't call me back after our date night?"said Max.
"I thought it was clear it was just a one night stand," I said. It wasn't that Max was not good looking, because he was very attractive with his broad shoulders, grey eyes, tall build, wild hair, and pearly whites that looked as if they were straight from a Colgate commercial. I just have rules I abide by and it just so happens that rule 1 is after sleeping with a guy, don't get his hopes up. Reason being because I don't date. I've tried to date before but I figure it's not for me because it's never worked out.
Nine times out of ten when I say 'I don't date' people assume it's because I've been hurt before, which is incorrect. I don't date because I don't like the idea of being tied down. I hate reporting to people. I don't want to be bombarded with questions throughout the day about where I've been, who I was with, and what I was doing. Last time I checked those are the most asked questions in a relationship, so I just avoid it all together.
Max's voice brought me out of my thoughts. "I thought we had something good here ."
"Max, really we've only been together once. It's not like we're dating. I thought you wanted me to hook you up with Jules anyways."
"I did but that was before we slept together," he said.
"You still want me to talk to her for you?" I ask.
"Sure, but where do we stand first?" he ask in reply.
"Um, I'm pretty sure we're standing by the gym." I say sarcastically.
"Ha Ha, you're so lame. You know that's not what I mean." he says laughing.
"Seriously though, no hard feelings whatsoever Max. We're cool." I say.
"Okay. Don't forget to talk to Jules for me." he says as he turns to walk away.
"Will do Maxi, will do. You just make sure you stay pretty now."
"Will do Kailee, will do." he says in response walking in the back doors to the school.
I scoff as I turn to go through the gym doors I've been standing by. As soon as I turn someone bursts through said doors, colliding right into me. I gasp in shock as I feel myself tumbling backwards only to be caught by a strong pair of arms.
"Well, someone was in a hurry weren't they?" I say irritatedly as I look up into the blue eyes of the school's residing golden boy.
"I'm so sorry, I was just so in a rush to get something from my car, I wasn't watching where I was going." he says as if he's being scolded.
"Well, maybe you should be more cautious as to where you're going next time." I say.
"I'm really sorry, I swear."
"I know I heard you the first time you said it. Are you gonna hold me much longer? I have basketball practice to get to." I said. He immediately let me go and I roughly hit the ground as quick as I would have if he hadn't caught me the first time.
"That hurt you idiot!" I say gritting my teeth.
"I'm so sorry! It was a reflex ."
"Stop saying your sorry. I'm not glass. I won't break if I fall." I say.
"Right, I'm sorry." he says.
"You said it again."
"Sor- I'm gonna have to work on that."
I chuckle quietly then say, "You do that. This was fun and all but like I said before if I stand here chatting any longer I'm going to be late for practice." I stand up and brush myself off. I open the gym door but before I get a chance to walk in Jackson calls out to me.
"Hey, hold on a sec. Are you sure your okay? Let me make it up to you."
"Listen Jackson, we didn't get into a car wreck. We only bumped in to each other dude! I'm not on the brink of death or anything." I pull out my phone and see that I'm five minutes late. I groan lowly knowing that Coach Brookes is going to run me so hard I'm going to die from sprints and suicides. Now I am irritated so instead of being level-headed and just listening to what Jackson has to say I look into his apologetic blue eyes one last time and with a heated glare I turn and stomp off.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I throw myself into my car tiredly. I'm sore as hell and right now all I really want is a hot bath to soak in and close my eyes. I knew I should have cut Jackson off sooner so I could get to practice on time, but since I didn't Coach Brookes decided to try to kill me with exercise. I'm not usually one to hold a grudge but if I were to see Jackson right now I would run him over, then I'd revive him only so can hit him again. I start my car and begin to back out of my parking spot. I stomp on the brake when hear something thud into the back of my car. I hurriedly take my seat belt off and jump out of the car. I walk to the rear only to cover my mouth in shock and fear. I HIT JACKSON PETERS.
Sorry about the cliffhanger but you'll have to wait to see what happens next on Mr. Golden Boy.
On another note though, you all would not believe what I went through to write this chapter . I had to rewrite this stinking chapter three whole freaking times. I have been so fustrated lately. The first time I accidently exited off the tab and second time I was trying to figure out how to save and continue later but I made a mistake and hit cancel.
I can honestly say I cried ........ AWKWARD! but anyway I hope you all love it or at least like it. Please vote and spread the word about this book. THANK YOU LOVELIES! I WILL TRY TO UPDATE TOMORROW.
