The airplane droned on for hours now. There was almost so much excitement among your platoon that you wanted to jump for joy. The army plane was heading for Juneau airport. From there you were free. Your 4 years of serving on the frontline was over. In Iran you served as a medic on the field, going out and doing house searches. Your platoon has become family. Looking around you watch the men and women moving legs and hands in excitement. "Staring the decent, buckle up comrades." The intercom clicked off and there was a few cheers near the front. Everybody was now moving to get their bags in place and straps on. Your camouflaged bag sat between your legs and your straps pulled tight. Looking out the small oval window the clouds were thick and snow was falling. Only flurries but you wanted to cry. Snow was something you missed tremendously over in Iran. All there was over there was fucking sand everywhere. It would always get in places you would prefer not to discuss. Your ears popped slightly reminding you to chew some gum. There was one other thing on your mind that was driving you nuts. You haven't been able to touch your husband for almost 9 months. Bam always wrote to you about what was going on and how much everybody missed you. He even let them write their own segment a few times. But what really excited you was what he said in the last letter. Remembering it made you blush. Being around men all the time and a few tough girls like yourself gets you used to hearing and seeing very bad things. But what Bam had sent you was uncomprehending. He misses his new wife and it showed. You had only been married for three months before you got the message that it was time to leave again. He also said that there was a surprise at home waiting for me. This just makes you jittery again, can't this darn plane go any faster?! You look oh the window again finally seeing the airport. It took ten minutes to land and you ripped off your straps eager to move. You deliberately sat by the door to be one of the first off. The whole family had come up to get you which almost makes you cry again. Determined not to cry just yet you bounce from foot to foot in your combat boots. Finally the door opens and the flurries fall in slowly. You follow close behind stepping out into the hazy morning. You hear families crying and see couples running to embrace. It's just like the last three times, but this time you had someone to welcome you home. Taking the steps two at a time you search the crowd frantically. Stranger zip past your vision. Then, you see him. He smiles at you with a smile a mile wide. His hair has grown out longer since you left and it makes your stomach fill with butterflies. You sprint to Bam's open arms and the family's beaming smiles. Dropping your bag you leap into his arms almost taking him down. "Oh, how I have missed you so much." He cries into your neck. His tears fall silently onto your uniform. The rest of the family is tearing up and closing in for a giant hug. "(Y/N)! I'm glad your back!" "We missed you!" "It's pretty awesome that you are back!" Their words zone out as Bam's warm embrace holds you tight. His chest is heaving like he had run a marathon and his eyes are still tearing up. He lets go a little to lean back and look at you. He stares from left to right taking in your whole face. "God, I've missed your face. I missed waking up next to you and all the snuggles you could give." This time you reared up smiling, happy to be back with your family. "I've missed you all so much! You won't believe the stories I have to tell. Oh! And I brought back some stuff for you guys!" You trail off as the family starts to move. Gabe grabs your bag and you smile appreciatively. Bam grabs for your hand hastily and walks close, not wanting to let you go.

After the long two hour trip back to Hoonah, the family has started making their way to Browntown. They have left you and Bam to yourselves down the cabin area of the Integrity. They were happy to see you and wanted to spend all their time catching up but hey knew you wanted alone time with Bam. With the hatch closed and the door locked you and Bam are in each other's arms. He holds you close as you tell him of the horrors you saw. He knew hat this was part of the job when it came to being an Army husband. He listened carefully and knew when to give you love. Finishing your last story he sighs. His head comes down to your hair and he takes a deep breath. "I also missed your hair. So beautiful and always smells good." You crack a smile and look up into his eyes from his lap. His hand absently strokes your hair as he takes you all in. "I never want to be away from you like that again." You nod and play with his curls. When the Integrity pula into your bay everybody lets you in the skiff first with Bam and Bear. Bear jumps out and pulls you ashore. You climb out after Bam and he takes your hand again. His foot steps are light as you head towards the cabin. He smiles and looks to you one more time before opening the door to the cabin. Once inside you see the all new furniture and bed. The blankets are new also. He explains how Ami made the blankets and Gabe and Matt along with his help made the furniture. You lean up and kiss him. "It's beautiful, nothin like I had imagined!" He grabs you hungrily. "We have a few minutes before anyone else comes into camp, wanna break in that bed?" He winks at you and doesn't wait for a response before throwing you down and covering you with kisses.

The family loved their gifts you had gotten from various airports and Iran.
After being interrupted by a knock on the door Bam rolled his eyes and reluctantly climbed off of you. He promised something to you that made you once again blush. And he sure did deliver that night. The homecoming was the best you had ever experienced and would do it again anyway.
