It happened at a bar, quite unexpectedly, to tell you the truth. There was no build-up to the big explosion, no warning tension in the days beforehand. One moment Dean was Dean, then another moment he was someone else entirely.
Dean was flirting with the bartender like he always does. Sam was ignoring him and sipping his drink quietly. Cas was people-watching. Then, quite on accident, Cas made eye contact with a pretty brunette across the bar. He graced her with a small smile, and continued to people-watch. A few moments passed before Cas felt a light touch on his arm. He looked down to see the pretty brunette smiling at him. He smiled back at her as she whispered a breathless hello.
"Would you like to sit in a booth with me?" She asked and gestured to an empty booth.
"I would like that very much." Cas replied, instantly feeling at ease with the woman. She seemed too innocent to be a usual bar-goer.
Sam watched as Cas was led over to a booth by a pretty brunette. He sighed; looks like he's going to be the only one alone tonight. That was before he heard a soft hello and turned to look into the face of a beautiful redhead. He smiled; maybe tonight wouldn't be a total bust.
The pretty, blonde bartender turned to help another one of her patrons, and Dean turned to Sam and Cas. Except Cas had been replaced by some redhead. Dean searched for Cas and his eyes landed on him in a dark booth. At first, he wasn't sure about what he was seeing... was Cas with a woman?... And the girl wasn't giving him a strange look?... Dean's jaw dropped when Cas threw his head back and laughed. The brunette across from him smiled shyly, and Cas reached out and took her hand from the table. He held it while he said something that made the woman blush profusely. Dean looked at their clasped hands and something awoke deep inside Dean. It reared its ugly head and hooked its claws into Dean's emotions, making him see red. He stood suddenly.
Throwing a twenty on the bar, Dean curtly said to Sam, "We're going." He left Sam spluttering angrily while he strode over to Cas's table. He stood next to the table, but the couple didn't see him; they were wrapped up in their own little world.
Dean cleared his throat, and two heads swiveled to look at him.
"Sorry to break this happy gathering, but we're leaving." Dean growled as he grabbed Cas's wrist and yanked him out of the booth.
"Dean... wh--" Cas was cut off as Dean roughly pulled him across the room.
"Sorry, Vanessa!" Cas called across his shoulder to the brunette. This caused the ugly monster inside Dean to get even angrier, and Dean tightened his grip on Cas's wrist. He pushed past an angry Sam and stalked out to the Impala. As soon as the door closed behind Sam and Cas, Dean sped away from the bar and the dark-haired minx, Vanessa.

The Impala pulled up to the motel and Sam stepped out of the car. He slammed the door.
"Dean, why the hell--" Sam was cut off as the Impala backed out of the parking lot. "Dean!" he shouted as the car sped off down the street. He cursed and kicked an empty can lying on the ground. He was still muttering curses when he opened their motel room and dropped on the bed, fully clothed. Within moments, he was in a deep sleep.
Meanwhile, Dean was driving Cas to who-knew-where.
"Dean, what are we doing?" Cas asked but when his question was met with stony silence, he settled back into his seat. Obviously Dean wasn't going to tell him anything.
After a few more minutes of tense silence, Dean pulled to the side of the gravel, back-country road they were on. He got out of the Impala and Cas quickly followed suit.
"Dean, where are w--" his words were silenced in his throat when Dean's full lips pressed against his own chapped ones. His eyes went wide with shock before they slid closed and he moaned into the kiss. Dean broke away for air and rest his forehead against Cas's. Cas took in his situation.
His whole body was sandwiched between the Impala's metal body and Dean's equally-as-hard, muscled body. Dean had one hand imprisoning Cas against the Impala while the other was buried in the thick strands on the back of his head. Dean's wonderful green eyes were shut tight as he battled some inner emotion, and his hot breath was hitting Cas's mouth, making him ache for another kiss.
"Dean..." Cas finally whispered. Dean let loose a shuddering sigh, and he felt his body relax against Cas's as the ugly monster slowly sank back to where it came from. Cas was here, with Dean now, and not with that stupid Vanessa. Dean moaned in pleasure and surprise when he felt Cas slide his hand into the back pockets of Dean's jeans.
"No more laughing for girls. No more smiling at girls. No more talking to girls. Okay, Cas?" Dean moved his lips along Cas's stubbled jaw.
Cas sighed contentedly and said, "Same goes for you, Dean." Dean pulled back and looked into Cas's face, searching his deep, blue eyes. After a few moments, he smiled.
"Yes. Same goes for me." Dean pressed his lips against Cas's. They both smiled into the kiss.
They stayed like that for a long while, because in that moment, they didn't have to worry about anything. They didn't have to worry about Sam, or saving the world, or what this thing between them meant. They could finally focus on the now; the feelings shared with each kiss, and the love in every touch.
And that's really beautiful, if you ask me.
