Beyond Wall Rose - 2 years after the fall of Wall Maria

Blood.
   That's all she could see.

That, and the gigantic, dirtied fingers clutched tightly around her.

Breathing was becoming difficult, and her vision began to fade out. What was happening? Where was she? She.. she couldn't remember. Why?

Suddenly it was dark, and she was trapped in her mind.

###

Outside war raged. Battles brewed. Numerous men and women alike fell to the blight that was the Titans.

Captain Levi Ackerman drove his blades deeply through one, landing on the nearest building with a low grunt. His grey eyes travelled around him. All he could hear were screams, all he could see was death.

He found Erwin, fighting to try to help an already limp soldier. Obviously dead. He turned swiftly to his left as the sound of footsteps, larger than life, echoed around. Another Titan came forward, stupid and dull expression over the monster's face.

"I hate the way you look," he spoke while wiping a rag over his swords.

It still approached, almost quickening. He continued wiping down his blades till the blood had gone and they almost sparkled in the dim light of the setting sun.

As the Titan came closer, Levi raised his swords up. He looked at the edge of the blades, checking the sharpness. "Almost dull," he concluded with a sigh, "I need to be more careful."

And then Titan was there upon them. Before Levi, reaching its arm out. If the plaguing species could've been faster, it might have actually had a chance at capturing the Captain.

Instead, he jumped. The sound of the Titans hand clashing against the roof and his 3DMG latching into the Titan fought against each other for dominance. Without a thought, his blades ran through the back of its' neck as he pulled himself over to the next roof. His back was turned as the body of the Titan crumbled forward against where Levi had once stood.

He glared ahead at the small onslaught of still coming Titans. He didn't have much time to strategize about how the Survey Corps would handle them as the sound of her scream echoed through the lost territory.

###

She was still trapped in her mind, a blackness over her, but the pain in her stomach was excruciating. It couldn't be ignored.

The Titan tore its teeth into her, blood dripping into its mouth, through its ragged teeth and onto the ground beneath. She let out another shriek, this one stronger.

###

Levi's head turned. No, he thought as his mind raced. He advanced quickly, ignoring the members calling his name as he left them behind. Erwin would reprimand him later but right now, right then, it didn't matter. If that was her.. if she was dying.. no..

###

Pain seared through her body but she still wasn't waking up. She was trapped. Why? You're in pain, get up!, her mind yelled, trying to will her eyes open. It wasn't working.

It tore into her again, causing another scream and stream of blood to flow. Why am I screaming if I can't get up?, she wondered, almost amazed. Was it that bad? Was she that frightened?

###

Levi was becoming more panicked. The screams were louder the more he moved to his South. And more understandable. It was her, and she was in pain and possibly dying and he wasn't to her yet. He couldn't save her yet.

A 9-meter class Titan blocked his way, smiling as its eyes danced over Levi's approaching figure. It didn't move. It knew he was coming straight for it.
