Lillian
I tapped my fingers against the desk as I quickly copied the notes Mrs. Waller had written on the board.
"Remember that pages 68-81 are due on Monday. Enjoy the weekend."
I heard a few cheers, and a few groans. I completely ignored them and quickly finished the last few notes seconds before the bell rung.
"Of course Lillian is going to finish reading first. She's a book worm." Someone whispered harshly.
I clenched my jaw and rolled my eyes mentally as I stacked my books up, and walked out the door.
The hallway was crowded as always. Everyone squished and shoved past me as I tried to get to my locker.
"Are you fucking serious?" A voice shouted, catching my attention, and the attention of the people around me.
"Shut up Aaron. You're drawing attention." Sarah hissed, loud enough for me to hear.
Aaron shook his head in anger and slammed the into the nearest locker with his fist before walking away. Everyone made space for him to walk, and a few had fear plastered across their faces.
Aaron Foster was.. Interesting. He was smart, but he never studied. He did well in class, but failed every single test he took. He was good-looking of course, but I would never admit that to any living being.
"Lillian!" A familiar voice called out.
I spun around searching for the voice before I smiled.
"Nicole!" I called out. She ran over to me and began walking with me. "Aren't you suppose to be at cheer practice?"
"Nope!" She answered with a grin. "Are you doing anything tonight?"
"Yeah. I have to finish reading a couple pages from the textbook." I answered, glancing down at my books.
"Oh PSH. Lil, you really need to loosen up. You're such a bookworm." She teased.
I could feel the heat rising to my cheeks. "I just want to get it done so I don't forget about it over the weekend."
"Mhm." Nicole nodded her head as we arrived at my locker.
I opened it up, shoving all my binders in my bag.
"But seriously. What is a pretty girl like you doing at home alone with a stupid textbook? Aaron is throwing a party tonight. You should seriously come with me."
"Speaking of which.."
"Yeah. Aaron and Sarah broke up. Again." Nicole interrupted.
Typical Nicole. She was like the second Gretchen Weiners. She knew everything about everyone.
"Anyways.. Are you cominggg?" She whined.
"That's what she said." Chad said, joining the conversation.
Nicole punched him lightly. "You're so immature."
"Always will be." Chad chuckled before leaning down to press his lips again Nicole's. "What are we talking about here?"
"Aarons party. She won't come with me." Nicole huffed. "Don't say that's wha-"
"That's what she said."
Nicole rolled her eyes, trying to hide a smile. Chad chuckled lightly, and I joined him. I loved seeing Nicole like this.
Her cheeks turned bright red and she rolled her eyes at us. "But seriously."
I sighed and shook my head. "No, I'm good."
"Lillian basically lives and breathes textbooks and homework."
"Touché." I nodded, hitching the strap of my backpack further up my shoulder. I shut and locked my locker before turning to both of them. "If you'll excuse me, I need to go read pages 68-81.."
I walked away before Nicole could say anything. I pushed the doors open and I glanced past my shoulder to look at Nicole. I smiled and waved goodbye before turning back in front of me. But I suddenly knocked into someone, falling backwards.A/N:
I'm apologize to everyone. This chapter was complete rubbish and I can do better then that. I look back to read it and cringe everytime, but I wanted to get this story started. I promise you the story will get better. Thank you and I apologize!
