I walked down the hallway, nervous for my first day. It was the same school as 7th grade, but because I was in 8th grade, it seemed scarier. I found my way to my locker and breathed a sigh of relief. None of them were near me.

"Lucylle!" I heard someone shout. It was just Stacy. Thank the heavens.

"Hi Stacy," I said lazily.

"I'm so glad our lockers are near each other!" She squealed.

"Me too," I lied. "Welp, gotta get to class, so I guess I'll see you later?"

"Sure!" She exclaimed once more. Stacy was alright, but we weren't that close. I walked to English I and sat down. Amy was in this class. I didn't think she was smart enough. Amy and her friends made my life a living hell just because of a stupid talent.

So I could summon light at will? Why was that something to be proud of? I didn't see why they were jealous. It's not like I was an Enchantress. I zoned out as class started, when I noticed a classy man walk in the room. No one else seemed to see him.

"Lucylle, what are you hiding?" He seemed to say, though his lips didn't move. He was still, but I could hear him calling out to me.

"Come Lucylle. My daughter of light, show me what you can do." He begged. The teacher finally noticed him and it stopped.

"Mr. Seth, what brings you here?" She asked. Mr. Seth...where had I heard that before? Then, suddenly it hit me. He worked for Sir Grimm. He was responsible for checking over the Enchanter children the testers brought in. What was he doing here in a small village?

"I've come for the daughter of light," he explained vaguely.

"Why would you want me?"

He looked over to my position at the back of the room,"So you are a Light Enchanter? We've heard many stories about you in the Grand Palace. You're quite popular there."

"I wouldn't call myself an Enchanter..." I said softly, ignoring the fact that I was popular in the Grand Palace.

"Why is that?" Mr. Seth questioned.

"I didn't pass the Enchanters' test," I replied solemnly. Then, Mr. Seth came over to me and lifted me out of my chair.

"I doubt she'll be coming back," he said cooly and 'escorted' me out if the class room. When we were outside, he put me down and strode over to a young man with bright red hair. They talked for a few minutes and then approached me.

Mr. Redhead grabbed my wrist and looked me in the eyes. Something powerful surged through me and a blinding array of colors came shooting out of my body. When it was over, they looked at each other wide-eyed. I was confused. I had always been able to do that. It was simple.

"Go to your house, pack your belongings, say your goodbyes, and meet us in the central square an hour from now. If you don't show up, every army man of the king will be out looking for you, tracking you." Mr. Seth warned. They walked off without saying another word.
