"Hailey!" there was a yell from Ivana.

Running into her part of the house, I slid to a stop by the table Ivana gained messages from. I breathed heavily, just practicing with my powers outside. Ivana gripped the table tightly, her knuckles turning white.

"Go to the forest nearest the Ghosts," Ivana breathed.

"W-Why?" I leaned forwards. "I thought I'm supposed to be avoiding them."

"Alec has to be stopped," Ivana growled. "Destroy his threats and then return."

"Okay," I was confused, but Ivana wasn't looking away from the table, meaning whatever had happened was serious.

Within moments, I ran out the property gate. I headed towards the mountain where I'd defeated enemies to gain my necklace back. My powers flared up each time I took a step forwards, as if trying to lead me towards Alec.

They were.

"So happy you could visit us Hailey," Alec stood alone in a small clearing.

"Us?" I hissed.

Alec smirked, moving to the side, and revealed a tied Hesh. Hesh looked at me and then widened his eyes, trying to wiggle out of the bindings. My eyes narrowed and I looked back to Alec.

"Why are you threatening," I paused, "Allene and I?"

"You know why," Alec hissed. "Allene needs to die for my own purposes."

"You really think you can defeat her?" I growled.

"Well, you're distracted right now Hailey," Alec smirked when I tensed. "Allene is at home and vulnerable."

"Don't touch her," I growled.

"Trust me, no one is near her," Alec seemed to become serious again. "I wouldn't let anyone do my job for me."

"Then what do you want?" I hissed.

In seconds, two people came to hold me down. I tried to break free, feeling a sharp burn in my neck. The two people were Kick and Logan.

"What'd you put in me?" I glared at Alec.

"Just a little painkiller and something to help your emotions," Alec cut Hesh free. "Bring her over here."

I watched as Hesh walked into the trees and led out Starlight. A small smile played on my lips at seeing my lovely horse. She was the only thing I had left of Keegan. Every time I saw her, it reminded me of our honeymoon.

"Is she important to you?" Alec asked.

I hesitated before answering. "Yes."

"Good, that's what I hoped," Alec smirked.

In one swift moment, Alec used a knife to slit the throat of Starlight. I gaped open my mouth and let out a painful wail. Logan and Kick tightened their grips on me. I felt tears falling as I sunk lower to the ground, watching Starlight drop and bleed out.

"Starlight!" I wailed.

"Do you feel pain?" Alec demanded, lifting my chin roughly.

"What do you fucking think?" I screamed.

My powers came to the surface. I flung out and away from Kick and Logan, blowing them back into the trees. Alec wasn't expecting me to charge him, flinging into the trees with the two Ghosts. I let out a shout of anger and then faced Hesh.

"Get out of here before I hurt you," I hissed, walking to Starlight.

Hesh disappeared, but only went to tend to the others. I knelt down next to Starlight, the blood-soaked grass staining my clothes. My hand stroked her face gently.

"Starlight, baby," I whispered, shaking.

Starlight tried to lift her head, only letting out a painful grunt. I gently placed her head back down and continued to stroke her. My tears fell to her face.

"I'm sorry," I whispered.

Using Ivana's lessons in my head, I tried multiple times to heal Starlight. Nothing worked and she only became worse. I was helpless.

"Hailey," there was a low, pained whisper.

Turning, I saw the shape of a man in the trees. My heart stopped when I saw who it was. "Keegan?"

"You failed me," Keegan stepped towards me, his eyes cold. "I expected you to keep her alive. I wanted you to pass this test."

"I tried," I whispered, crying.

"Not hard enough," Keegan snapped.

"Hailey," a hand on my shoulder made Keegan disappear.

"What the fuck was that for?" I turned, facing Alec angrily.

"Do you feel pain?" Alec was standing over me.

"Lots of it," I growled.

"Good," Alec crouched and leaned towards me. "Run home to Allene and make it clear that this won't be the worst pain you feel from now on. I'm coming after her."

"You won't get to her," I hissed.

"You can't stop me," Alec growled. "I can do anything to something you love and your world will be broken even more. I've just proved that to you."

I glared at Alec as he stood up and turned, helping Logan up on the way. "It's what you do best isn't it?" I stood and yelled after him, making him stop walking.

Alec looked over his shoulder, his gaze darkening. I clenched my fists and didn't look away from his darkly-dressed form.

"You ruin people's lives," I blinked away anymore tears that tried to fall. "But you haven't realized you're ruining your own! Have you forgotten who I am? I'm your sister, Alec! Why are you going out of your way to hurt me even more than you already have?"

Alec stepped closer, his eyes narrowing. "I know you're my sister and that I've hurt you. Allene is changing you, Hailey, and until you realize this, I'm not going to stop doing what I already have."

"She's helping me realize the truths to all of these lies we've grown up on," I stepped forwards. "Why do you not trust her? She's done nothing to you."

"You're wrong Hailey," Alec hissed, backing away and joining the others, who were walking away already. "She's done everything to me."

"What?" I demanded, yelling as Alec glanced back.

"She's taken you away."

Short and boring, but I haven't had a lot of time to do practically anything. Basketball will be over by next weekend, and that will free up so much for me.

Thank you all for 500 reads! You're amazing! :)
