I pulled up into the carpark of the apartment building. Parking my jeep in my usual spot. I walked into the lobby greeting John on the way. He called out for me and I walked over to his desk.
"Someone left you flowers" he said cutting to the chase.
"What?" I said, slipping my hands into my pockets.
"A guy from the florist down the street, he came in and said they were for you." He said, handing me a bouquet of roses.
"Who are they from?" I questioned.
"I asked the same question, he said he wasn't aloud to say" John replied.
I studied the flowers, thanked John and then walked to the elevator, the bouquet still in hand.

When I got back to my apartment I put the flowers in a vase and then walked out onto the balcony. Who on earth is sending me flowers? I wondered to myself. It couldn't be Alec, he thought that I hated flowers after I had sneezed once when he brought them for me. I pulled out a cigarette, I had been smoking since last year, my final year of exams had caused me so much stress so I picked up smoking, a bad habit I hadn't dropped since then. I knew smoking was bad for me, but it relaxed me. I lit up the ciggie, taking a long drag, before staring out over the city. I could see cars flowing up and down the streets, people walking from building to building. After stumping the cigarette I walked back into my bedroom, changing into my work uniform. I retied my hair into a ponytail and headed back downstairs, glancing at the flowers before I left. I worked at a small supermarket down the road, it was easy enough to get to so I just walked there. A lot of creeps came in and tried hitting up the checkout girls, after a few shifts I learnt the right things to say and how to handle them. I got to work and hung my bag up in the staff room before going to my till and opening up.

Since no one really came in, the other checkout workers and I used to just chat.
"How was Uni, Zo?" Amy, a fellow coworker of mine asked, filing her nails.
"Good, kind of boring but hey, better than expected!" I replied, blowing bubblegum bubbles.
"Any guys?" She smirked.
"One" I replied.
"He has blond hair and gorgeous eyes you could get lost in" I said twirling around.
Amy laughed and returned to filing her nails. Finally after doing nothing all of my shift a man came in. He walked over to my till and started unloading his items onto the counter. I couldn't help but laugh at some of his unusual items. I scanned his items, placing them in bags, it was when I got to the XL condoms that the man finally spoke.
"Maybe you could come back to my place and we could try those out?" He whispered.
"Maybe you could back off before I call the police" I whispered back.
"Come on sweetheart, I know you want it" he replied, biting his lip.
I laughed in his face.
"Hah! First of all, don't call me sweetheart" I said, counting on my fingers.
"And second, you don't know what I want, I do! And guess what, babe, its certainly not you"
A blush crept up onto his cheeks and he didn't speak to me until I handed him his bags.
"Bitch" he muttered under his breath, walking off.
"Pleasure meeting you also!" I yelled back, laughing at the experience.

I returned back to my comfortable position of sitting on my counter.  Amy asked me what happened and I told her the whole story. We were both in stitches by the time I was telling her the last bit. That's when I saw him. The blond boy with the eyes I could get lost in. He spotted me sitting on the counter and started walking over. I tried to get a hold of the counter with my hands but ended up missing and falling onto the floor. Leo rushed over.
"Are you okay?" He asked, concern in his face.
"I'm fine" I laughed. "Just a little clumsy"
He helped me stand up, grabbing my hand in his his.
"You sure your okay?" He asked, still holding onto my hand.
I nodded, looking over his shoulder to see Amy sat reading a magazine.
"So? What brings you to this lovely part of town?" I asked, sarcasm dripping from the word lovely.
"I needed to buy some things for the house, and this was the closet supermarket" he stated.
I knew this was a lie because when I was dating Alec I could walk around the corner from his house to a supermarket, however I didn't say anything to Leo. He walked away to go and find the items he needed, as soon as he was out of sight Amy whispered to me.
"Is that him?"
"Yeah" I replied.
"Good choice Zo" she smiled.
I laughed back at her.

Leo soon came back with his items, nothing out of the ordinary, thank god. I didn't want him to be one of those creepy people who eat some thing gross like tinned sardines wrapped in lettuce leaves. I placed his items in a bag and he payed.
"So, you got any lectures tomorrow?" He asked.
"Just one, it's in the afternoon though, how about you?" I asked.
"I've got two tomorrow and one the next day" he replied.
"Well, I'll see you tomorrow then?" I questioned.
"Yeah" he smiled. "Oh, hey, before I go, can I get your number, just in case I forget something or I need help with some class work" he stammered.
"Sure" I laughed, writing my home phone number on his hand.
"Thanks" he smiled, walking out of the store.
"Damn, he's falling for you Zo" Amy spoke.
"Don't be ridiculous, I met the guy today" I replied.
"Oh come on, it's pretty obvious he doesn't want to call you just to talk about uni" she stated.
"He's falling hard"
I could feel blush creeping onto my cheeks, did Leo like me? Was it possible to develope feelings for someone in such a small period of time? I'm pretty sure it was, because I had an indescribable bubbly feeling rushing through my body, ever since he had held my hand.
