Deja POV
It took me 20 minutes to get to my dad's trap house.
I parked my car around back and walked towards the back entrance. "Wassup Deja?" Big Rod spoke as he let me in.
"Nothing much Big Homie" I said. He chuckled "Aight now" he said. I just smiled and kept it moving. I walked upstairs to my dad's office.
*Knock* *Knock* *Knock*
"Come in" he said.
"Hey daddy" I said walking in.
"Hey princess" he said standing up and walking around his desk to hug me. "What brings you by on such short notice?"
I let out a stressful sigh as I began to explain what had happened.
"Damn. I'm glad you were smart enough to call Scar and figure out what to do." Me too. "Now.." he continued. "As far as you being followed you are going to have to be more aware of your surroundings. Especially being that your boyfriend is the biggest drug dealer on your side of town. There are people that want his empire and will do anything to get it. They might not come directly for him. They will most likely come at those he care for the most to distract him off of his game that way he can become weak and vulnerable and you know what I told you about the weak and the vulnerable?"
"That the weak and the vulnerable are the easiest prey." I said recalling what my daddy told me on my first day of high school.
Flashback
I stood in front of the full body mirror on my closets sliding doors nervous. It's the first day of school as many first days of schools I done had this one got me. My first day of my 9th grade year.
"Come on princess it's time to go" My daddy said knocking and opening my room door at the same time. I sighed "Okay daddy"
"What's wrong baby girl?" he asked. "It's a big change for me." I said. "And" he pressed. I swear my dad knows me. "I mean look at me." I said taking a glance at myself in the mirror. "Like what if nobody likes me? I mean I got Taylor but it would be fun to have more options. I'm just scared of being bullied" I confessed as I flopped down on my bed. My dad sat beside me and put his arm around my neck. "What's not to like about you? You're smart, you're funny and you're pretty. But who cares what people think about you. As long as you got you is all that matters. Show no signs of weakness. The weak and the vulnerable are the easiest prey. Walk around with your head high and let the negativity flow right past you." he said while kissing me on the side of my forehead. "Oh one more thing if one of those nappy head little girls try you beat their ass okay." I laughed "Okay daddy." "Awee there goes that brace-faced smile of yours" he said. I just mugged him "Let's go before I be late" I said.
"I'm gone need for you to stay strong Deja. Cause like I told you before you got involved with Scar that being with a drug dealer comes with it's perks. You have to be his rock. There may be times where he won't come home days at a time and you have to be prepared for that. You have to stay strong."
"I understand you daddy. Trust me I am well prepared."
"I'm glad you do understand and that's good."
"Yea daddy."
"Where is Scar at anyways?"
"Idk. He is supposed to be meeting me here" I said.
"Well I'll be downstairs in the basement. I have some unfinished business with a long lost friend so notify me when Scar gets here so we can talk business." he said leaving out of his office.
