Day 4: Teddy Day (February 10)

"Shin-chan~ It's time to go to school! Hurry up!" Takao yelled and wasn't that surprised to see Midorima step outside with a wall clock in his hand.......probably the lucky item. As they got ready for the usual round of janken, he asked casually, "So what place do Scorpios rank...maybe I can beat you today~"

Midorima looked surprised,"You didn't watch Oha asa today?"

Takao hoped he hadn't said anything wrong,"Well....I kinda overslept today so......"

"So you don't know that your ranking is terrible, and you have no clue as to what your lucky item is?" Midorima asked, his voice a bit sharp.

"Um....I guess... but it's not like-" before Takao could say another word Midorima turned around and went back into his house with a "Wait right there and don't move."

"Um...okay?" he said to the retreating figure.

When Midorima came back a few minutes later, he was holding an adorable palm sized teddy bear keychain.

"Here, my sister lended it to me a while back, I figured you'd make a fuss about carrying around something bigger." Midorima said as he thrust it into Takao's hands and went towards the rear car.

"Oi Oi! Where do you think you're going?" Takao asked Midorima as he put his fist forward for the janken,"I won't lose this time!"

"Hmph pointless!" Midorima scoffed as he turned to face Takao.

And indeed it turned out to be pointless, Takao thought as he pedalled the bike while the tiny teddy bear hung from one of the zippers of his bag. Midorima sat in the rear car as usual, sipping on a can of shiruko.

What was unusual however was the unusual amount of whispers the the duo attracted as they walked to their class......It most probably had something to do with the play rehearsal......but shouldn't that have subsided by yesterday?

It was only on their way to the terrace that they found out what the whispers were about.........the new posters for the play had been put up. Eager to see what the big deal about them was, Takao dragged Midorima with him to the display board......only to get the shock of his life to see his name listed among the cast as the Princess. Well, it wasn't actually his name but really.........'Otaka Kazuna' was a dead give away.......she didn't even bother changing the kanji, they thought sweatdropping.

"Explain." Takao asked icily as he turned to confront the Drama Club's President, Yukiko; who was personally putting up the poster and was admiring the full colour photo from of him and Midorima from the rehearsal.

"Hm? Oh Takao-kun." Yukiko looked completely unphased as she looked at this side of Takao at which even Midorima wisely took a step back at. Instead of following the very wise decision Midorima just made, she asked casually," Is something wrong?"

Takao pointed to the mangled version of his name,"Isn't that supposed to read Megumi?"

"Oh that.....we were going to let you know today, you see.....I rewatched the recording of the rehearsal and decided that Takao-kun is more suitable for the role and when even Megumi-chan agreed we decided to let you have the role." Yukiko explained with a smile.
