"It feels like we're back in kindergarten"
An Infinite F interview where these three will talk about their best balance of innocent honesty that makes hearts flutter.

From the Korean group, Infinite, that boasts of 99% synchronized performances, Sungyeol, L, and Sungjong formed a new unit, Infinite F. This is the second unit from Infinite following Infinite H, they released a fresh song, "Love Sign", and debuted in Japan ahead of the others. In this ModelPress interview, these three talked of their teamwork and recent private events.
[SPECIAL INTERVIEW] The distribution of roles is perfect! The best balance of the three.

Q: Congratulations on your Japanese debut! First of all, please tell us how your unit came to be.
Sungyeol: During our concert in Korea, we demonstrated a bit of the "Love Sign" performance and we were met with a lot of support and anticipation. During that time, our CEO already had our debut in mind, but the fans themselves told us that we should debut so as a result, we officially debuted.
L: When we faced everyone and introduced ourselves as Infinite F for the first time, I think that day had the loudest cheers. Before we made our appearances onstage, there was a notice in the electric billboard, and somehow the audience became really excited. I think it became the number one hot issue (LOL).

Q: It's been said that you're known as the "ones with the most idol-like visuals" in Infinite.
Sungyeol: But with that talk, wouldn't Sunggyu-hyung become mad? LOL

Q: How was the response from the other members regarding this new unit?
Sungjong: They told us, "That's really great! Congratulations!" And definitely they told us that "Health comes first." "Take care of your body, and exert a greater effort than before during preparations so you can show everyone your everything." And they pushed us from behind.

Q: Do you have some sort of rivalry with the previous unit, Infinite H?
L: We don't think of H as a rival at all. Because H is more hiphop and we're consistently pop dance. We create music that is brighter and refreshing. Since we have different musical directions, we are not really rivals. It's more of a feeling that we do our best in our own paths. We are confident that we would be able to express our own colors as F.
Sungyeol: Whether it's H or F, it's still part of Infinite. I think that while we're doing our best in our own activities, more than having a perfect image, it's more of we express a greater synergy.
L/Sungjong: Oh! As expected from the leader!

Q: So your unit leader is Sungyeol?
Sungyeol: Yes, I'm the leader!

Q: Did you talk with the others and agree on it?
Sungyeol: Not really. I'm the eldest among us three, so the CEO just appointed me and said, "You're the leader." LOL

Q: What kind of balance do the three of you have? Do you have specific roles?
Sungyeol: We definitely assigned each other a role. First, I'm the leader. L is the main vocal as well as the one in charge of adlibs. And then Sungjong is definitely the dance machine so he's the one in charge of dancing. Sungjong comes up with ideas for the dance, while L does the sound checks during rehearsals. As for me, as the leader, I'm the one responsible for interviews like this and official things from beginning to end. Moreover, L helps in, too.

Q: You really have secured your roles. Since you're doing activities as a unit instead of a group, did something in your mental/emotional state change?
Sungyeol: Instead of our sentiments or emotions changing, I think it's more like the pressure on us increased. Since we originally perform as 7 persons, now we have to perform singing and dancing as a three-person unit. There are many things we haven't been used to yet, but we'll adapt ourselves as we continue our activities and pursue an even better stage performance.

Q: Your debut song "Love Sign" is a really fresh and cute song.
Sungyeol: It has a refreshing feeling. When we sing it, the three of us just spontaneously show our images with overflowing energy. It's a stage performance wherein we become one with the fans and enjoy ourselves.
