❃3 YEARS LATER❃

I wake up from my alarm going off. I quickly shut it off so Davi doesn't wake up. That's what I'm calling him now, Davi. He said it was his nick name. I look over to him and smile. I can't believe it's been 3 years with him. Yeah, we still live with my kidnappers, but I managed to keep him away from them. I don't really get abused anymore which is good. The last time I was left bruised for days and I had to lie to Davi that I bumped into something.

At the beginning, it was hard. I hardly had enough money to buy him anything. But then I made a friend at school. She would help babysit him while I worked. She helped me through so much. I told her the story of Davi and she agreed to take care of him.

Since my room is really big, I bought him a little race car bed for him and bought him lots of toys and all that stuff for him. It was hard to go to school with a kid but in the end it all worked out. I now work at a clinic as a nurse. I help the patients after their surgery or their treatment. I get payed well which is great.

I get out of bed and grab my outfit for today. I shower quickly and dress. I go outside the room really quick to grab breakfast for Davi and I. I grab the food and head back to me room. I place the food on Davi's little play table. I grab clothes for Davi and go to his little bed. I then start to wake him up by shaking him softly and calling his name softly.

"Davi, sweety, it's time to get up." I say

"mmm, okay best friend." I smile at the name. He asked me one day about his parents and I said that they were really busy and that they will be back. It pained me to say that but what else am I supposed to say. Then he asked me who I was and I said that I was his best friend and the name stuck.

I pick him up and change him out of his pjs and into some clothes. Once I changed his clothes, I put him on his little play chair and start to feed him as he plays with the blue dinosaur. I eat my breakfast as well but make sure that Davi eats all of his.

"You ready for daycare, buddy? " I ask as I help him brush his teeth as well as mine.

"YES!!!" He giggles. I laugh at how cute he is.

"Alright then, let's go," I say as pick him up and put him on my hip while He plays with my hair with one hand and his other hand is holding his dinosaur. I grab my bag and head out of my room. I quickly walk through the house and out the door. I walk up to my car and place him in his car seat. Once he's all buckled up I head to the driver seat. I open the door and put my bag in the passenger seat. I start the car and drive away. You're probably wondering why I'm not running away from this place. Well I can't because I don't  have anywhere to stay because I don't have enough money for that.

I stop the car and get Davi out. Once out the car I head to the door of Violet. She's the babysitter. I knock on the door. Moments later, she opens the door and smiles at us.

"Hello Daniela, Hi there Davi, how are you?" She asks

"I'm good. Where's mark?" he asks as I put him down and runs inside looking for his friends. I frown at his behavior.

"I'm sorry about that."

"Don't worry it's okay," She smiles. ",so how are you?"

"I'm okay, Alan and Mary aren't doing anything lately, I guess they are just tired of us." I laugh . She then laughs

"Good, well, I'll see you at , 5:30?" She asks.

"Yup, see you then." I wave towards her and over her shoulder for Davi. He looks at me and says.

"Buh-bye, best friend, see ya later!" he yells.

"bye!" I laugh. I walk towards my car and head to work.
