Remembering Racquel

“Racquel.”

Napalingon siya sa babaeng tumawag sa kanyang pangalan. It was her best friend, Arcie. “Hmm?”

“May progress na ba sa kondisyon ni Clyde?” She smiled upon hearing her boyfriend's name. Technically, sila parin. Wala namang break-up na nangyari between the two of them.

“The usual. Cold-hearted freak parin siya.” She chuckled. The term freak would really cause her trouble kung maririnig man yun ni Clyde.

“Can you still handle it?” Arcie asked, punong puno ng pag-aalala ang mga mata nito. First time niyang nakitang ganito ang best friend niya. She probably feel so sad about her best friend's situation.

“I will. Masakit man, titiisin ko na lang muna. Sige, may klase pa ako. Bye.” She kissed her best friend goodbye and dumiretso na siya papunta sa pinagtatrabahuan niya.

Couple of minutes passed, Racquel found herself stuck in a traffic jam. She sighed. Lunes ngayon and it was seven past two already. Maaga pa. It will not cause her losing her job naman, e. Due to boredom, in-on niya ang radio inside her car. It was Maroon 5's Love Somebody playing. Napa-iling siya nung maalala niya ang nangyari last night.

Arcie came to her crying because a guy broke her heart. Nagtaka naman si Racquel. Arcie never had a single boyfriend since birth. Dalawa lang naman ang option na iniisip ni Racquel at that moment, e. Araw-araw niyang hinihintay na mamahalin ulit siya ni Clyde. Araw-araw pinagdadasal niya yun. Pero bakit hindi pa nasasagot ang mga panalangin niya? Rinig na rinig niya ng eksakto ang mga lyrics.
