Delilah's POV-
Is it me or does the last lesson of the year go really slow? As I look around the class I realise that everyone is slouching on the lab tables trying so hard to focus in this summers heat. London is usually cold and rainy that's why when its really hot we kind of struggle, and do anything to cool down, this includes walking around half naked for some people. But that doesn't include me because I'm quite insecure with the way I look.
I glance over at my friend Melanie, who sits two tables across from me, hoping that she'll notice me. After looking at her direction for a few minuets my science teacher decides to ask me a question randomly, and I know she's only doing this because she wants to embarrass me to the whole class.
"So... Delilah, what is the fourth most abundant element in the universe in terms of mass?" Great. Now everyone turned around in their seats just to stare at me. I hate it when I'm the centre of attention, its not me and I feel super uncomfortable. And like always what do I do... I stutter on my words.
"Its umm... it was urmm...." I know the answer I know, I know the answer but I'm afraid that it might not be the answer. See this is my problem. Low Self-Esteem. "Well, clearly Delilah you haven't been listening! How about you stop daydreaming and focus abit more!" my science teacher replied. I quickly looked at the clock and saw that we only had two minuets left and guess what, I wanted to show her that in fact I'm not dumb.
"Umm.. Miss the answer is Carbon" and with that the last bell of the year had rang, informing all of us that we can leave. I waited for Melanie to pack her stuff into her bag and just before I left the classroom I gave my science teacher a sarcastic smile and just left. I may be shy infront of people but when it comes to defending myself and my friends theres no way you can stop me.
As me and Melanie walked down the corridor we looked at each other with a smirk on our faces because we were just too excited for the holiday that awaits us.
