It was midnight and Christopher was sitting in between both Summer, and his twin sister Becky. Jason and Carlos were sitting in the couch opposite of the three in the large Whitman lodge. As chilling snow fell from the sky, loud music blared keeping everyone who wished to go to sleep, awake. It was strange, because Summer didn't want to go to sleep or stay up either....she just wanted to think, is all. Christopher stopped, putting down his drink and walked over to Summer and away from the others who were having the time of their lives. He sat down beside her and smiled at her lightly. When he spoke, his voice held but one emotion, worry.
"Hey." Christopher said meekly.
"Hey..." Summer responded as she pulled her knees into her chest and embraced them, feeling her light blue and purple leopard patterned fuzzy pajama pants.
"Why aren't you dancing with the rest of us? Come on! Have a drink! It's just a few more weeks until we graduate high school and go off into the world!" Summer only looked ahead as Christopher said this.
She watched the dark night with the raging snowstorm possibly get worse and worse. It was almost impossible to see through the window and Summer feared it would only get worse. But soon, the lights went out and everything was enveloped by a darkness about it. Summer grabbed onto Christopher's arm, holding it tightly as she began to shake. Summer was always one to be afraid of the dark. A quick cry of pain, then a gag came from what seemed to either be Carlos or Jason. The lights began to flicker, giving the large lodge the feeling of a place that had been abandoned for more than a few years. Everyone's attention soon turned towards the wires that were curled up near Becky's feet. She turned slowly and looked up only for a blood curling scream to be heard throughout the lodge. Carlos....Carlos was hanging from the ceiling by wires and he had a knife going through the right side of his neck. Becky rushed to the door and tried to open it, only for her to find that it was jammed. The lights quickly went out again and Summer felt a large hand grab her ankle and she was pulled into the closet. The person then stepped out and jammed the door shut with a pen cap. Summer backed up against the wall and tried to get up, only for her hand to slip as she felt a type of liquid on the wall. She rose her hand to her nose and sniffed it, smelling a type of metallic scent. It was blood....and by the looks of it, it had to be all around her. Christopher and the others rushed towards the closet as Becky had collapsed near the door, crying her eyes out. What if they weren't going to be able to escape? Becky looked up and noticed a hammer on the bookcase that was next to her. She got up and grabbed the large hammer, nearly dropping it for how heavy it was. As Becky had began to hit the door knob with as much force as she could, Jason let out a scream of pain and agony as he dropped to the floor clutching his stomach, as a pool of blood that nearly seemed to be black began to form under him. Christopher began to kick the door down only for Jason to feel a large pain in his chest and lower back. Becky continued to strike the door with no mercey and the pool got larger under Jason as blood began to spill from his mouth.
"S-stop...please...stop." Jason gasped, now laying in his own blood.
But the others didn't listen as they were blinded by the need to get out of the danger filled lodge. Summer slowly rocked back and forth, hugging her knees tightly, tears streaming down her face. What did she do to deserve this? Christopher had finally broken the door down and Becky had broken the handle of the door off. But Jason, ceased to make another sound. He, as well as Carlos weredead. Now it was only the three of the five friends left alive in this horror-ish nightmare. As the lights began to flicker, the three friends began to look at each other.
"What is going-....." Becky was cut off and an axe impelled her skull.
Christopher looked at Becky with horrified-wide eyes. There was no way these two could stay here any longer. It was time for them to leave. Christopher put as much strength as he could behind this kick and finally broke the door down. Summer looked up at Christopher and swiped her tears away. Christopher reached out, extending his hand for Summer to take. Summer too his hand and Christopher pulled her up.
"I think it's about time we get out of here." Christopher said as he picked up Summer and ran through the door, exiting the lodge.
Summer gripped onto Christopher's jacket as she buried her face in his chest. Christopher stopped and looked at the fork in the path, not being able to remember which was they had taken to get to the lodge. But Christopher fell to his knees, the snow crunching under him. Summer fell out of his grasp and she backed away noticing he had a large axe through his back. As Summer got up to run away she heard a helicopter over her head as it lands in front of her.
"Quick get in the helicopter now." A man in all black and dark green uniform with bullets and grenades strapped to his body, he had a strange accent but was not able to tell what it was due to how well he hid it. As Summer got in the helicopter he shut the door behind her and the helicopter took off. As what felt like forever of loud wipping sounds from the propellers, the helicopter landed in front of a building.
"This is a safe haven for our men." The man jumped out of the helicopter and held his hand out for Summer to get out so he could catch her, Summer jumps and the man catches her and took her inside and brings her to a room with a small bed and a bathroom. "Stay here for now and I will get the general so he can decide what to do with you for now." The man closes the cell door and walks away. Summer sat on the bed waiting for what seemed like 5 hours but was actually 20 minutes, two men walked in front of the cell, the first one was young he seemed to be in his early 20's, and the second one who seemed to be seasoned with age he had a well trimmed grey-ish white, mustache, a mole under his lip, for an old man that had to be 80 something he had a very pale tint to his well wrinkled skin, and slicked back hair. They wore the same uniform as the men that were on the helicopter minis all the war tools.
"chto vash rebenok imya ?" The old man said with a gruff man ordered, the second man stood next to the man and translated what was said.
"what is your name child?" the young man asked.
"S-Summer" she said timidly not sure of what will happen next.
"pochemu ty zdes' , i kto tebya poslal?" the old man asked in an rude attitude.
"why are you here and who sent you here?" the young man translated in the same tone.
"n-no one and I was at a friend of mine's lodge and all my friends were killed please you have to help me!" she pleaded only to not be heard. the old man made a sign with his hand and a guard came in with a gun, pointed it at her head and shot her point blank. As Summer sat up in tears, she looked around to see that she was on a train to the lodge and all her friends were asleep.
