AN: A little continuation of Proposal :3
Hushed whispers filled the chapel, an air of nervous excitement filled the room filled with family and friends of the grooms. One waits at the altar, his hands clasped together in order to conceal just how fidgety he really is. The suit is kinda itchy, his palms are a little clammy, and he's positive that his bright red hair has to look ridiculous now that he's doing something this serious.
Meanwhile, in the lobby, another man with ridiculously bright hair is experiencing his own pre-wedding jitters. His hands, unlike his soon-to-be husband's, are constantly moving. They run through his hair, mess with the sleeves of his own suit, fiddle with the cuffs, and then still a moment before restarting the tedious process.
Finally, everyone quietens as the doors open. Mark looks up, inhaling sharply when he sees Sean. Of course he had seen him in the suit when they were trying them on, but... His cheeks were flushed a pretty pink, his eyes seemed to sparkle more than usual, and he simply seemed to radiate his joy. A smile lights up Mark's face, and the first few notes of "Here Comes the Sun" begins to play. It wasn't a traditional song, but it made all the sense in the world to Mark. Sean was always his sun, his shining light that brought a new warmth to his life. Why not pay a little homage to his sun as he walks down the aisle?
Everyone stands, their eyes fixated upon the timid groom as he walks up the aisle. The ring bearer, Sean's little nephew, giggles softly as he follows his uncle with the pillow that carries the rings. One of Mark's little nieces trail behind, scattering rose petals on the floor. Sean makes it to the altar, an almost shy smile on his face that reminds Mark of when they first met years ago. The judge opens her book, smiling at the two men.
"Today is a celebration of the love these two have found with each other. Today is a promise for them to always be together, for all of their life.", the judge stated, looking at Mark. "Do you have vows you wish to say?", she asks, laughing softly when Mark nods enthusiastically and pulls a piece of paper from his pocket.
He glances at it, then back to Sean before he shoves it back into his pocket. "I-I had all of this planned and written down, but... Nothing I could ever say to you would be adequate enough to express my love...", Mark admits, giving a shaky smile. "But I'll do my best, not just with the vows, but with you. I'll do my best to make you happy, to make you smile, to get the privilege to hear your adorable giggle. I'd swim across the ocean just to see you Sean, and that's the honest truth. I promise I'll always be here for you when you need a shoulder to cry on, someone to talk to, or just some cuddles. I'll be your best friend, your confidant, your shelter from the storm... But most of all Sean... I'll love you as much as I love you now until every star in the skies burn out.", Mark said, his voice shaking near the end as tears gathered in his eyes.
Sean is already openly crying, touched by the heartfelt promises Mark made to him. He clears his throat, and laughter ripples through the audience when they hear him complaining about the badgers in his throat. "Mark... I'll never have yer gift fer words, but I'll stay with yah through anything tha world can throw at us. I promise yah I'll be here every day when yah wake up, and every night when yah go t' sleep. I'll love yah as long as I'm alive, and I'll love yah even after that.", Sean swore, sniffling softly.
Members of the audience dab at their eyes while Mark just smiles through the tears rolling down his face. Even the judge wipes away a tear, smiling at the two men. "Well, after those lovely touching words, I'll proceed with the ceremony.", she says. She clears her throat, her voice carrying out across the room, "Do you, Mark Edward Fischbach, take Sean William McLoughlin to be your lawfully wedded husband?" Mark nodded, his voice wavering as he replied, "Of course I do..." The judge turned to Jack and asked, "Do you, Sean William McLoughlin, take Mark Edward Fischbach to be your lawfully wedded husband?" "I do...", Sean whispered, tears flowing freely down his face, reaching out to clasp Mark's hands in his own. "Then by the powers vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and husband! You may now kiss the groom!", the judge proclaimed.
The bells of the church began to ring as Mark laughed, wrapping his arms around Jack's waist before he pulled his husband in close and kissed him. The gathered family and friends cheered, awhing at the adorableness of the two. After a moment, Mark pulled away, a dazzling smile on his face as he suddenly picked Jack up bridal style. His little husband's face turned bright red as Mark carried him out, everyone else getting a good giggle at how cheesy Mark could be.
Mark got into the waiting car, signaling for the driver to take off. He nuzzled against Jack's cheek, pressing little kisses on his face. "I'm so happy... I'm so glad we're finally married... I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you...", he whispered, kissing the Irish man's nose lightly. Jack giggled, hiding his nose. "I'm happy too yah big smelly.", Jack teased, kissing Mark's forehead. The two laughed together, cuddling in the backseat as the first day of their life as a married couple began.
