The Last Time

Their faces in shock,
Filled with worry.
I call out for help,
But no one's in a hurry.

They slide right on by,
Not a glance to spare.
And with a sigh,
I stand, time to face reality.

I am followed by stares,
None to nice.
Some even glares,
Cold as ice.

I call out for help,
To all those ears.
I call out again,
But so few will here.

Their ears are filled,
With the sounds of chatter.
And it chills me to know,
That my voice doesn't matter.

And for the last time,
My voice is forgotten.
It becomes so faint and soft,
Almost like cotton.
