Then And Now

15 3 2

What I used to be,
Was sweet, kind, and innocent.
I miss the old me,
But I was weak.

I was pushed aside,
Never respected.
Nobody cared,
And I was neglected.

I was becoming invisible,
Even to myself, I was disappearing.
Nobody cared,
My heart was darkening.

No longer soft and caring,
I became a rock.
Dark and daring,
Became my life.

Then I met you,
And I softened.
And you helped me through,
All my dark and light days.

What I used to be,
Was sweet, kind, and innocent.
I miss the old me,
But I was weak.
