Eliot exited his room to find a hallway, lined with doors identical to his.  The hallway was long, like that of a fancy hotel.  He smiled for a second as he remembered his first and only experience at a decent hotel.  He had stayed there for only a night, there only to steal from a wealthy girl in the morning.  Before he wandered to far back into his memory, he was pulled back into reality by Samantha, who had just emerged from the door across from him.

"Good morning.  Are you ready for the tour of the base?" Samantha said.

Somewhat surprised at Samantha's businesslike tone, Eliot cocked his head to the side.  Only now did he think to analyze her.  Before, she was just in the background, not important to him, but it was apparent that she was going to be a large part of his life for now.  He once again noticed her piercing neon eyes, but this time they didn't hold his gaze.  She was barely an inch shorter than him, which was saying something, considering he was six feet tall.  Despite her thin physique, she was toned, and there were even some scars that shone in her dark tan skin.

He guessed that she had been raised away from any kind of society, either that or she was really bad at talking to people.  Still, she seemed to genuinely care for his well-being, a sentiment Eliot was unused to.  As he reasoned through his new companion, he didn't notice that she had continued to talk to him.

"-you like to see?" Samantha finished.

In a hurry, Eliot replied, "Uh, yeah! That sounds great!"

Samantha gave him a confused look, considering her question was not a "yes" or "no" question.  She had noticed that he was looking at her intently, and cleared her throat, snapping Eliot out of his scrutiny.

"How old are you?" Eliot blurted out.

He instantly regretted it, and looked to see if he had offended Samantha.  She looked to be too busy thinking to be offended.  Her eyebrows were scrunched together, as if she had to think hard in order to find this information.  Before she could respond, someone tapped on Eliot's left shoulder.

"Excuse me, Mr. Green, sir."

Eliot turned to face a massive man, bending down to his height.  He looked to be a giant, probably seven feet tall.  He wasn't muscular, though, like a giant in fairy tales; he was somewhat thin.  He wore round glasses and a loose fitting dress shirt.  Despite his immense height he looked to be a peaceful man.

"Um, hello there.  Do I know you?" Eliot asked.

"Er, yes, I mean no.  I am the one who is in charge of finding you a spot here in the side show."

Eliot looked at the man, surprised. "I thought you already knew exactly where I was going." he exclaimed, incensed at the thought of him flying in the air or blowing fire.

"I thought that Headmaster Brachs would have told you by now."

"Who?"

"He's talking about B." Samantha chimed in.

"Oh goodness!  I forgot that you only just got here!" the man exclaimed, "Well then, my name is Gerald, but you can call me 'Mr. G.' if you want."

Mr. G extended his hand towards Eliot.  Still slightly intimidated by the man's great height, he warily shook his hand.  Surprisingly, his hand wasn't crushed by the giant.

"Here at the Side Show, everyone contributes to the community." Mr. G explained, "For example, the children clean up after every night of activities, this morning they had quite the time cleaning your mess."

Eliot thought back to last night and instinctively put a hand to his gut, where his wound had been.  Once again there was only skin, unblemished and healed.  Mr. G noticed and went to say something, but Samantha quickly cut him off.
