So recently, I have had to wear these elastics at night time. So it's basically half time or part time meaning I'd have to wear them for 12 hours. But even more recently, I've been told to wear them full time.
The orthodontist wants you to wear them like 24/7 and they say:
They work best when you eat so keep them on when you eat.
And the hella annoying thing about that is that is they can sometimes get caught with the food you're trying to eat and they come off and you swallow them. Then you don't realise that the other elastic is still in and then you're like:
Oh great. That could've been off all day...
Which eventually leads to:
Oh my goodness oh dear no oh goshness MY JAW HAS PROBABLY SHIFTED OVER TO ONE SIDE AND NOW IM GONNA NEED SURGERY TO GET THEM PUT BACK INTO PLACE AND THAT IS GOING TO BE PAINFUL.
Which will also eventually lead to:
OH WHAT ABOUT WHEN I DIE WILL THIS BE THE DEATH OF ME WHAT EVEN HAPPENS WHEN YOU DIE LIKE ARE YOU JUST GONNA BE A NOTHING FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE WITH NOTHING EVEN BEING AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS OMLLLLL.
So a note to orthodontists.....don't do this.
You can take out your elastics like it's not like you eat for five hours do its not going to slow down treatment by ten years if you think that's what is going to happen no because the orthodontist may exaggerate. They shouldn't though however, there are some people who are not careful with these things and threatening seems to work these days.
I'm not sure if this is what you all do but when you eat hard foods, so you bite a piece off from the side? I do but unfortunately that is where the elastics are located...which usually results in them snapping off yay.
Don't fret my pet, these bands don't snap into two and hurt you however, you can definitely feel that they have 'snapped' off.
What I mean by snapped off is that it has come off one of the little hook in your mouth. The elastics need to be wrapped around two tiny hooks to actually...stay..on..the teeth..duh lmao.
But I don't have any more to say at the moment. Have not updated in ages due to school and homework and study and hxnhddnrhn.
So, I hope you're all doing well.
Thanks for reading
