Holly's Wonderstruck Adventures

Chapter 1 - The Present

It was Holly's birthday that day and late last night she had a mindset that she wasn't going to go to school at all costs. Unless she was bribed with a birthday present she might have gone to school. But her mommy was coming up to check on her so she thought she better go to sleep so she doesn't get caught awake.

"Hey, psst Holly time to get up for school" Holly's mom whispered as she entered the room.

"But mooooooom I don't wanna go to school!" Holly complained.

Mom thought about this for a minute. It was her Birthday after all and she WAS turning eight.

"It might be your Birthday but, that isn't a good enough reason to not go to school." Holly's mom argued.

Holly crossed her arms and made a sour face and turned away.

"Don't give me a hissy fit but, I will give you your present, but you have to guess. But not if you keep whining." Rosy's mom lectured softly.

Holly was very intrigued by this offer and considered it for a second. After thinking for a good thirty seconds and then they decided to accept. 

"Alright what's my present!" Holly said cheerfully.

"I knew you would accept, let me go get it. Don't open your eyes!" Holly's mom said triumphantly.

Holly waited patiently as she tapped her toes together to waste time. 

"Alright here you go!!!!!" Holly's mom said very happily.

Holly stared jumping in her bed and acting all excited. "I think I know what it is!"

"Well, if you know what it is then open it." Holly's mom said openly. 

Holly nodded and started unwrapping the small white box with red polka dotted wrapping paper. "Oooooooh my own play Pokéball! I love it mo-" Holly started cheering when her mother put her hand on her knee and started talking.

"This isn't a fake Pokéball, it has your first Pokémon in it. I know your gonna love it. Why don't we go outside and play with it? I'll let you take the day off of school after all. Especially because you were so grateful" Holly's mother said to her.

Holly started doing a jig and was REALLY enthused.
