Chapter 2 - The First Day Of School

Hey guys its Shadow here and before we start the story I don't care that all the words are capitalized in the chapter name. Deal with it.

Lets get on with chapter two.

"Alright honey lets go into the back yard. I think you're going to like your Pokémon I caught it myself." 

Holly's mom said cheerfully to mainly herself but Holly caught on while they were walking down the stairs to the back door. 

"Mommy, when did you go out and get the Pokémon? you work as a teacher at my school, I see you almost all day." Holly asked quizzically.

When her mother was asked that question she blushed and ushered Holly out the back door as she told her she had another small gift for her, that would buy her more time. While she was looking for the cap that she had for Holly she thought up a good excuse to tell Holly. As she was walking out the door she changed her mind and thought that she would just tell her the truth.

I hope she isn't mad at me. Holly's mother thought. 

"Holly to answer your question you know the day I stayed home sick last week?" Holly's mother asked Holly.

"Yeah you said you had a bad cold" Holly said as she wondered where this was leading. 

"Ww... Ww... Wwwww. Well, I actually took that day to go out to Vergas town and catch you, well... your Pokémon." Holly's mother finally stammered out. 

"Wow! Mom you are really a genius. I love that you took a sick day off and while you were sick went and caught me a Pokémon! You are really the best mother!" Holly told her mother gratefully.

Wow things really do go over her head, even when she's eight. Holly's mother thought to herself as she watched Holly try and open the Pokéball.

She actually bought that I didn't know she wasn't sick. I just wanted her to feel better. Sheesh her years haven't helped her. Holly thought.

"Holly, you have to press the button on the front to open it" Holly's mom said in suspense

I think she's gonna like her Pokémon, or at least I hope so. Holly's mom thought.

"Mommy look!" Holly squealed. 

"Mommy I love it! I love it! I love it! I love it! I love it!" 

They both stared at a very cute Deerling. It cried and ran to Holly, the Deerling was about the same height as Holly. 

"Holly i'm glad you love it, but I think Deerling wants you to take a ride  on its back."

Holly looked questionably at her mother. "Will I hurt it?" 

Holly's mother looked at Holly and shook her head. "No it can sense that you are light enough to carry and obviously it loves you because it only lets its closest friends ride her.
