*Beep....Beep....Beep*

My hearing came back first. The beep of the monitor near me, the soft breeze coming in the room. My sense of smell came next. The strong scent of disinfectant mixed a with a hint of my mothers perfume. Next, touch. The slightly rough blanket under my fingertips, the uncomfortable pillow under my head. Slowly, one by one, the rest of my senses came back. Sight last of course. My eyes felt like bricks as I forced them to open. A groan bounced off the walls which I soon realized was my own. My throat was so dry, it hurt to do anything. Slowly, my sight became less cloudy and I saw the starch white ceiling. My eyes drifted to the side to see the my adoptive mother, sitting in a chair next to my bed, her hand in mine, loosened in the slightest by sleep. I looked the other way, so that's where the monitor noise came from. An IV connected to my wrist.

I felt sore everywhere. I wiggled a bit and a pain shot through my stomach. I groaned again and my mothers head flew up. She yawned, not noticing I was awake yet. Rubbing one eye, she looked around, her eyes stopping when they landed on me. "Hey sweetie..." She whispered softly when she saw me awake, scooting closer towards me. "You were in a car crash, you've been asleep for two days. I'm so glad your okay..." She squeezed my hand lightly before letting it go. "Have some water," Mom practically demanded but I wasn't complaining, not that I could. She stood, walking over to the other side of my bed and picking a glass up filled with water. Turning towards me, she put it up to my chapped lips and tilted. Cool water ran down my throat, making it feel a lot better. "I'll go get the nurse." Mom said, putting the glass down and pulling the door open, smiling softly at me before leaving.

I moved my hand that didn't have the IV in it towards a remote for the bed, stopping right away when I saw bruises covering my arm. Staring at it in shock, I brought it closer towards my face to see it better. How come I didn't feel any of this when I was in my dream-like state? Was it even a dream? I have so many questions. I dropped my arm back down beside me, just laying there, motionless.

I don't know how long I was like that but my mom came back in, followed by a woman, probably a couple years younger then my mom. "Hello Sariel, I'm Emelia, your nurse. How are you feeling?" She chirped, a smile on her face. my lip quirked down in the slightest, I was never a big fan of these types of people, so oblivious to everything around them but that's their business not mine. "I'm okay, a little sore but not to bad" I replied quietly. Her smile widened if possible. "Well i'm glad your feeling okay. We should have you out of here in a day at the most! Maybe you'll be able to even leave by tonight!" She said happily, talking to me like I was four year old. I just looked away and mom whispered something to her and they both left the room. I let out a soft breath and looked around. This isn't the first time I've been in the hospital, kind of left a bad taste in my mouth. A sketchbook and box of pencils caught my eye next to me and I smiled softly, grabbing and putting it on my lap. Opening to a fresh page, I began to draw the man from my dream. I remembered exactly what he looked like, almost like he was engraved in my mind. My pencil flew over the paper, one of my greatest skills was drawing. I smiled as I drew him, he seemed so familiar.....

Hair as dark as the shadows the covered his right eye in the slightest.....high cheek bones, but not high enough to seem unnatural.....thin, light pink lips that almost always seemed to be in a smirk.....and his eyes, oh his eyes. They seemed to be the most beautiful shade of green I have even seen....not to dark, not to light...perfect

I didn't know how late it was until my mom came in the room, a plate with food on it. I closed my notebook, putting my pencil that needed sharpening later, away as well. She smiled at me, putting the food down next to me. "So good news! Doctor said he wants you to stay over night then you can leave tomorrow!" Mom chirped, grinning. I smiled softly at her, "That's great"

After barely eating anything off my plate, I laid back down. "Sar, I'm going to go run a few errands now that I know your okay. I'll be back in a while okay? And with Avery. He'll be so excited to see you awake!" Mom exclaimed happily. I just nodded, closing my eyes. I heard her heels click on the floor, her lips on my forehead before the door opened and shut. I opened my eyes back up again, staring at the ceiling once more. Throwing the covers back, I moved my legs over the side of the bed so they dangled a bit. Looking down at my feet, I wiggled my toes a bit before putting them on the cold floor. It was almost...comforting. I stood up completely and it took a bit to adjust. I just can't help to wonder.....

Was that a dream or a vision?
