Chapter 12

Mia's Pov
"OWWWW!!" I yell as I thudded on the ground. I rub my head,"That really hur-"
"LOOK OUT BELOOOOOWWW!!"
"UGH!!" I exclaimed as Dani landed on my back.
"Huh! Soft landing!" She got up off of me and I groaned as she pulled me up.
"Please." I grabbed her hand,"Please don't ever do that again!"
"S-sure." she replied a bit flustered from the sudden contact," Anyways, you ready for this gym?!" She punched the air and looked me in the eye. She looks determined, she's also pretty excited...
"Yeah, lets DO DIS!!" We high-fived and looked around at our surroundings.
Dani did so with a quizzical look. "Where are we anyway?" I looked straight down. Oh no.
"U-umm D-Dani?" My voice quivered. Oh Arceus. I grabbed onto her sleeve tightly, gulped, and said," I th-think we are in a h-huge spuh-spi-spii-"
"Why are you so scared all of a sudden?" She looked down at me with an eyebrow raised.
"*gulp* Its buh-because we a-are in a giant sp-spi-spii..." I paused to take a breath and calm myself. "Dani, I'm scared be-because we are in a giant Spiderweb!!" I said the last part slightly too loud and some of the people in the gym turned to look at us. Dani disregarded their looks and started to walk along one of the lines.
"Come on M! You'll miss out on all the fun-"
"Hey!" A boy walked towards us. "Are you a challenger?" Dani nodded and reached for her poke balls.
"Hey what about me!" I flailed my arms out to keep my balance as I went over beside Dani. "I'm a challenger too!"
"I'll fight you after her! Now come on--Show me your Pokémon!"

Danis' POV
-You are challenged by Youngster David-
-Youngster David threw out Leyba-
"Come on out, Eevee!" Eevee jumped out of her poke-ball. "Now Eevee! Use Quick Attack!"

*Time skip*

We are right there! We are about to defeat the gym leader!
"Hey Mia! How about battle 'em 1st!" Dani nudged me forward.
"Uwahhh! Me?! Um... OH KAY!!" Axew jumped out of her hair while Solara came out of her poke-ball. "I'm gonna try my best! You'd better do the same when it's your turn Dani!"

Mias' POV
This is the moment... I'm gonna do this! And I'm gonna succeed!
I sent my vulpix out, ready to battle.
"That determined expression... That glint in your eye says you're up to the challenge..." The blonde photographer smiled. "It's fantastic! Just fantastic! Is this your 1st time challenging a Gym?" I nod slowly, a bit confused at her eccentric nature. "Fantastic! Whether it's tears of frustration that follow a loss or a blossoming of joy that comes with victory..." She brings her camera up and gets ready to take a picture. "They're both great subjects for my camera! Fantastic! This'll be just fantastic!" She takes a deep breath. "Now come at me! My lens is always focused on victory--I won't let anything ruin this shot! She takes a picture and the battle begins.
-You are challenged by Leader Viola!-
-Leader Viola sent out Surskit!-
"Ok Solora let's start this out with Ember!" It's a good thing I did some training the other day!
-She did some damage! Now Surskit used Water Sport!-
"Use Ember again!"
-Solora did some more damage but Surskit used Bubble! It's super effective!-
"Have a potion, Solora."
-Solora was healed but Surskit hit her right after with a Bubble!-
"Solora! Use Ember!"

*Time skip because this is getting boring*

"You and your Pokémon have shown me a whole new depth of field! Fantastic! Just fantastic! Now onto the next one, just let me heal 1st!"

*You think I'm gonna do another one of those?*

"You two young trainers, you... No, it wasn't you two alone. You guys and your Pokémon, Vulpix and Liepard, have shown me a whole new field of depth! Fantastic! Just fantastic!" She walked to each of us separately and gave us our Bug Bagdes! Dani and I high fived when Viola coughed and continued on with her speech. "With that Bug Badge, Pokémon up to Lv. 30 will listen to your orders in battle... Yup even if you get them from trades! And here!" She handed us both disks. "This TM commemorates your win against a pro photographer like me. TMs are the best gear around. They're point-and-click easy, and you can use them over and over again. Use this one, and it'll be impossible for your opponent to flee from battle!" She stepped to the side. "Now then. Can you zoom in a bit to check out the tent behind me? Take the stairs beyond it, and you'll be back up to the entrance faster than a flash!" She smiled and opened the curtain. Me and Dani walked up the steps, excited after clearing our 1st Gym. Although I was more excited! "OMA!! We just went through a secret passageway! SO COOL!!" Dani smiled and dragged me outside.
"Ok Mia let's hit the Pokémon Center, heal our Pokémon, grab a bite to eat, rest, then continue on our way to the next Gym!"
"That sounds alright to me! Let's get moving!" I raced Dani to the Pokémon Center, ready to heal, eat, n' sleep. And then continue on our way to the next Gym.
