During that night, a loud crash was heard. This caused Lariat, who was fake sleeping, went down to check what happened. He took a flashlight, and without turning on any lights, quietly walked towards where he had heard the crash. He shone his flashlight on it, and lo and behold, Viviette was laying on the counter, a couple dishes scattered and broken.
Lariat made note of this, and took Viviette back upstairs. After that, he came down to inspect the situation before anyone got up. That's what he thought- until an angered voice uttered "What are you doing?" Lariat pointed the flashlight towards the sound to reveal the wide-awake face of Everett. He scowled. "Well.. Where's my answer?" He persisted.
"Oh.. My apologies. A few dishes were broken, so I came to clean them up."
"At 3:42 in the morning?" He asked, checking his watch.
"Yes.. I heard the crash while I was sleeping. I came down to see what it was."
Everett nodded, but you could tell he wasn't fully satisfied with the answer. He turned and went back upstairs. When he turned, Lariat saw something shine in his belt. A pistol. He did not have a good feeling about this guy. Not at all.
The next morning everyone was downstairs eating breakfast. London and Lucana were eating very little, if anything at all. Elise was eating alot, almost as though the girl had two stomachs. The rest were eating normally, minus Viviette, who was asleep on London's shoulder. Percival pointed at London. "Hey you! Ponytail! Yeah you!! Tell me why the women are all over you!"
"Didn't we already go over this? They like me more. Maybe its just becuase I'm better..." He snickered, grinning evilly.
"WHAT. Did you just say, you stupid son of a bitch?!" Percival shouted at London. "I'll have you know, what you speak of is not possible, you are not even capable of that.. Its Sacrelig! Blasphemy! People like you.. More or less anyone.. Are not capable of being better than me!"
London laughed. "That's not what all these women say.."
Percival and London had some kind of glaring contest, and then Gilbert budded in. "If you had money they'd be all over you. Infact, money is what makes the world go round. If you had some, like me, maybe they'd be attracted to you." He said, flipping a coin to Percival. "Anyone would kill for your looks. Add money onto that and the ladies will be dropping at your door." He grinned.
Anyone would kill for your looks.
Something about that phrase made Lariat uncomfortable, so he took note of it.
Lucana mumbled to herself after the remark was made.
Lariat decides to make conversation, as well as try to figure them out.
"So has anyone heard about the chain murders?"
Gibert spoke up. "I have! There was another one last night!"
Lariat looked at him. 'That information was never disclosed..' He thought.
Everett banged his hands on the table. "Another one?!" He asked, shocked. "No.."
Lariat looked at him. "Something wrong?"
"I swear I'll kill that guy! I will kill him.. And I'll like it! I'll... I'll.."
"Ev!" Percival's voice boomed from across the table. He then looked at the others. "I am so sorry.."
"Its okay! I'd understand why someone would want to kill a serial killer, even though that kinda makes you a killer yourself. But.. Oh well!" Elise said happily. It seemed as though Everett could almost not be the culprit. No matter how obviously all signs point to him.. Our culprit may not be the most obvious.
London laughed. "Your raging lust for the destruction of this man. I find it quite... Amusing. Everett, is it?" He sounded almost condescending when he spoke to Everett. Like he thought he was better.
"Amusing?! What the hell did you say?! You find me AMUSING?! Son of a bi-" his mouth was soon covered. "Ev, Lord Almighty, what's your issue?!" Percival said. "You have a problem with everyone today."
"Well maybe it's because that condescending idiot over there is calling me amusing! I'm not amusing! I want nothing to do with him! I'm out! Where's my bags?! I'm leaving this damn hellhole before it burns me alive!" Everett said, snapping.
Viviette had woken up as a result of the man's yelling. "..what's going on?"
"Allow me to say it again. I'm leaving this damn HELLHOLE before it BURNS me ALIVE!" Everett yelled at the girl.
"I don't see what your problem is.." She replied, in her slow, calm voice.
"Great! I don't care! Goodbye!" Everett turned away.
"Excuse me, Everett, but you cannot leave."  Lariat said, turning Everett back around.
"And why the hell not?"
"Because, you accepted the deal, now you're here. A deal's a deal."
"That's stupid as h-"
"It's the rules." He interrupted.
"Fine, I'll stay, but I'm staying far away from all of them. Every last one." He said.
Percival looked at him. "But Ev, what about m-"
"You too. Goodbye." Everett turned and walked upstairs.
The room was quiet from there.
