Landen
What? But how? This? Him-her huh? My thoughts were going through my head in gibberish, too fast for me to translate. I reached down and tried to pick up the ticket. My hand was shaking. I finally grasped it and studied it. It was real. I kept looking from the ticket to the entrance to Ally. This was not happening. I didn't know what to do. Should I go on? Save it to go with Sarah tomorrow? No. I already told her I couldn't go, and she would totally be able to tell I had never been there before. I'm gonna do it. I have to. I headed over to the lockers by the gate and payed $6 for a small locker to squish my backpack in. It was quiet in there so I called my mom. "Hey mom it's me. I'm not gonna be home till late, is that ok? I promise I'm not doing any thing illegal or whatever.""Whoa whoa whoa. Slow down Grace." She replied laughing. "Just tell me where your going. It's not a school night."
What was I going to say?! Camping? No. Party? Definitely not. Hmmmmm..."Gemma has a Girl Scout night hike tonight and it's bring a friend." I lied.
"Oh of course you can go sweetie! But I thought you hated hiking? You always complained and-"
"I know, but I'd feel bad if I didn't go"
"Just be safe, alright?"
"Promise. Love you, bye."
"Bye. Have fun!" Wheeew. Got that over with. Now here goes nothin. I walked over to the main gate. There was hardly a line. 2 families at the most. Then again, it was February-their offseason. After what seemed like forever I finally got to the front. There was an older lady scanning tickets. Her name tag said Jan.
"All alone?" She asked. I was about to reply when a voice behind me replied for me.
"No, she's with me. Disneyland's not as fun alone."
"I agree. Well, it's always fun, but not as fun alone" Jan said as she took my picture. As I was going through the turnstile I glanced back and saw the boy who replied for me scanning his ticket. Wait. No. He has a pass! Wow. That must feel unbelievable to come her every day and-
"So. Where to first?" He stopped me mid thought. He laughed. "Sorry for being so rude back there. I could tell you didn't want to tell her why your alone."
"Ummm."
"Sorry. I must seem really weird to you. What I'm trying to say was I know that it's your first time, I could tell by the way you marveled at literally everything." He laughed. "I must sound really rude. I'm sor-"
"It's ok. You've said your sorry like 3 times." I giggled. "Your right. It is my first time. Thanks for having my back though. I really appreciate it."
"No problem. I'm alone too. Thought I could use it as an excuse as well. Avoid the awkward conversation."
"Well, thanks. You can go though. You seem like you come here often. You don't want to waste your night with me."
"Actually, I wouldn't mind that at all. You seem pretty cool and I think it'd be fun to show you around."
"Wow. You seem like you live here."
"I practically do. But alone 90% of the time. My friends... Well, they don't like Disneyland really. Not too interested. I guess it doesn't always have its 'spark' as you grow older. It always has for me." He said.
"That's the opposite for me! All my friends love this place, you'd be surprised how many excuses I've made up not to come."
"I'd like to know your story, I really would. But we're wasting precious time. I don't mean to be rude, but I think that you'd want to get the most out of your visit."
"Definitely." I replied. "Lead the way!"
