        Today's the Day

Beep beep beep. Beep beep beep my alarm clock shrieked. I slumped out of bed and lazily headed to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and hair before realizing the date. It was February 29th. Leap Day! And Disneyland Day! I got dressed and headed downstairs. I poured myself some Lucky Charms and walked over to the couch. Dad and Ryan had left early this morning so I had the house all to myself. I turned on Full House and ate my cereal. Dad felt bad about me not coming up to the cabin so he called me in sick today even though I tried to convince him it was fine. Now I have the whole day to rest up.

Around ten, I called Gemma and told her that I wasn't going to school so I could rest up, but she was doing the same. She asked if I wanted to come over, but I told her that we'd probably get more rest alone. She agreed and hung up.

This must be the longest day of my life. No day has ever lasted this long.

To pass the time, I went upstairs to my room to pack. I grabbed my pink purse, chap stick, my portable charger, and $500 let's hope I don't loose my purse and my Minnie jacket. That's when I remembered that I didn't have a ticket. I really didn't want to waste time waiting in line. I grabbed $150 and went down into the garage. After digging through old boxes I found my blue bike. I pulled it out, strapped on my helmet and I was off. Once at the store, I parked my bike next to the basket return. I walked in and headed to the gift card kiosk. I grabbed a 1 day park hopper and checked out.

By the time I got home it was noon. I scavenged around the fridge till I found some lunch meat and made myself a sandwich. By then, it was... 12:15. The fastest way to pass the time is tv. So that's exactly what I did.

After an episode of Once Upon A Time and three episodes of Full House, it was time. I grabbed my purse and ticket and flew out the door.

I was the first one to arrive, but Gemma came soon after. As always, Sarah was last, but made it with just a few minutes to spare. We hopped on the bus.

We got to the park at 2:45. Gemma and Sarah said we were gonna go to California Adventure first, they just needed to go grab a few friends from Disneyland. I told them to go on and I'd meet them when they got in California Adventure. We said our temporary goodbyes and headed opposite directions.

After waiting a minute or two in line I finally made it through the turnstiles. I walked over to a man wearing a plaid vest.

"Excuse me sir. Do you know where to get a World of Color fastpass?"

"Just turn right after the Starbucks up ahead and keep walking till you see a giant bear statue and the rapids. That's where they'll be."

"Thanks!"

"No problem." He said. "But a much more fun way would be to take this trolley here and get off at Starbucks rather than walking." He whispered, smiling.

"Thanks again!" I shouted as I ran off towards the trolley.

The red trolley was just about to leave when I got on. The driver rang the bell and we were off. It was brief, but much more fun than walking. The lady next to me on the trolley offered me a fastpass for some ride because they were leaving. I took it and hopped off. Soarin' Over California. Return between 2:15 and 3:15. I checked my phone. It was only 3:00 and Landen wasn't getting here till 3:15. Might as well.

I walked over to the ride named Soarin' and got into the fastpass line. Well, I wouldn't consider it a line. More like a walk-on entrance. After waiting in a short line and watching a safety video, we were led into a big room. I sat down in a seat, buckled up, and we were off.

The lights dimmed and we were lifted off the ground. Dramatic music started to play and before I knew it, we were Soarin' over California! We flew over Lake Tahoe, San Diego, Death Valley, Palm Springs, and so many others! It was amazing! Soon it ended and we descended back to the ground. I unbuckled and walked out.

I checked my phone. 3:12. I caught a glimpse of the bear and walked the short distance to it. I found a bench with a view of the rapids and waited.

After a few minutes I got up and walked over to a railing to watch the rapids. While watching a family get soaked, something poked me. I flung around and it was him.

"I knew you'd make it." He said.
