Chapter 1: Reiji's Past

RHYTHM's POV

"Rhythm! Wake up! Sleepyhead, we'll be late for school!!" I heard Onee-chan shouting but i just ignored her and continued sleeping.

She punched my back and that made me shout, "AWWEEE!!! SORE WA ITAI!!" (It hurts!!)

"It is your fault, imoto. I already shouted five times and turned your alarm on! Are you a deaf?!" She shouted and went down.

She's annoyed! HAHAHAHAHA.

"O hayou gozaimas, otou-san. Onee-chan. Where's okaa-san?" I greeted then asked.

"At her office" otou-san said then pointed okaa-san' office upstairs.

I just nodded and ate my food for breakfast.

"Nee-chan, let's go!" I shouted then i saw onee-chan running towards me. I smiled to her and went in our car which our otou-san drives.

"Did you forget something? None?" Otou-san asked and we mouthed none.

He started driving the car.

I looked at Reiji who is walking towards our classroom. I called his name but he didn't turn his back on me. That's weird. I know that he doesn't like talking to people, especially girls.

Is it just me or he really looks sad?

Why would he be sad?

"Reiji!" i shouted again and ran towards him. I tapped his shoulder and he finally looked at me.

"A-are you okay?" i asked nervously. He might snob me, you know.

He just nodded and removed my hand away from his shoulder. His eyes were red and his cold emotions was doubled!

"O hayou" I looked at Key behind me. I also greeted him and we walked together heading to our classroom.

"Did something happen to Reiji? You are his only friend so.." I asked curiously but he looked at me and mouthed i don't know.

"But he looks so sad. His eyes were--"

"I said, i don't know" he said coldly and went inside our classroom first. HAH! WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE TODAY?!

I sat on my chair and fixed my things.

Sensei came in so the class president stood up and shouted, "Stand! Greet!"

We sat down and sensei started discussing but i can't focus because i can see Reiji sleeping!

DISMISSAL. (GARDEN)

"Reiji! You are not okay.." He looked at me with no emotions and i don't why but when i saw him crying, i felt sad too.

"R-reiji.." He hugged me and i can feel that he's crying.

My heart beats fast and i don't know why! I w-was just s-shocked when he h-hugged me.

"It is mom's death anniversary today..." My eyes widened when he said that.

That's the reason why he looked sad... He really loves his mom...

REIJI's POV

I don't know why but i can feel that i can trust Rhythm.

I feel sad and happy...

I removed my hug and looked at her.

"When i was a kid.. Mom always told me to stop making a girl cry. I can't help it.. I really don't like a girl confessing to me. Mom told me to find a girl that can make me happy... I was really happy when she's happy.. She always told me to be happy. One day.." My tears fell continuously again.

"O-one day.. Me and mom fought.. It was because i made a girl cry again and all of my grades went down. But i didn't fail, i passed but my grades went down.. She asked me angrily. She asked what am i doing. I replied angrily too.. I shouted at her.." My heart aches..

Rhythm hugged me tight.

I feel comfortable..

"I told her that she's stupid because she can't understand why my grades went down. It was because of my family problem.. Mom and dad fought about me and that is the start when my grades went down.. That day.. When i shouted that to her.. She fainted and was sent to hospital.." I cried and let Rhythm hug me.

"She was sent to Osaka Hospital. Do you know why she fainted? It was because of heart attack. She.. She didn't tell anything to me at all. She didn't tell that she has a heart problem. I apologized to her when she woke up. I asked the doctor outside if the heart disease was major. He nodded.. He told me that anytime.. Mom could die.. The doctor told us to not take mom home or and just wait until she recovers which is impossible." I sighed and wiped my tears while Rhythm is hugging me.

"After a week..." My tears fell continuously and i covered my mouth.

"Mom died.." My voice cracked and i hugged Rhythm.

"Sshhh..." She comforted but it was bot effective. Just a little bit..

"It was m-my fault! She got angry when dad and i fought about my grades... It was my fault. All of it---"

"No. Don't say that. It is not your fa-"

"You don't even know my situation, how sure are you that it is not my fault?" I asked seriously and removed her hug. I wiped my tears and looked at her.

"Reiji." He punched my chest where the heart is located.

"What are you doing?" I asked and was about to remove her hand when she punched lightly again.

"I want to break that door so i could understand how you feel" she said seriously but i grabbed her two hands.

"Y-you can't." I said seriously and walked away.

Arigato, Rhythm.

KEY's POV

"Rhythm" i called her name and she looked at me.

"What are you doing here, alone?" I asked curiously. She's alone here in the garden a while ago.

"N-nothing. I'm going home, see you tomorrow" she smiled and i just waved at her.

I went home.

Rhythm, i like you. Why can't you feel that?

One message recieved.

I looked at my phone and grabbed it.

I'm not going to school tom.

It is auntie's death anniversary today.. I visited her grave a while ago.

To: Reiji -,-
Okay. Are you okay?

*TWING!

From: Reiji -,-
Yes.

I think he needs a friend to talk to. I called him but he is not answering the call.

I looked at my phone.

Load expired.
