The Space Core was floating through empty space. He had been happy there for a while, but by now he had gotten sick of the place.
[There is nothing in space]. That is what he believed now. He used to see the wonder, and joy of it all. Not anymore.
A rectangle appeared out of nowhere and The Space Core was sucked into it.
He landed beside something cylindrical and grey. It opened and something was dropped inside.
A figure — dressed in a simple orange jumpsuit — ran straight past him.
It was then that The Space Core noticed the voice in the room. It was... sinister. The Space Core did not like it. He knew that voice all too well.
{So get comfortable while I warm up the neurotoxin emitters.} it said, it was not apparent who to.
The Space Core could barely see the commotion from his place behind the cylinder, but he knew that something big was going on.

Eventually, something was dropped nearby to The Space Core. It seemed familiar to him, though also foreign. "Who are you?" the thing piped up from its place by The Space Core. "What is that? Oh, what's that?!"
The Space Core was confused, so he simply replied; "Space...?"
"What is space?" the thing asked. "Stars, galaxies, astronauts, planets- SPACE!!!" The Space Core replied. Curse his low vocabulary.
"What's a... star?" the thing asked. "Big, shiny, ball thing. Hot. Fire. Burn. STAR." The Space Core attempted to explain.
"Hm. Hm. What's fire?" the thing asked. "Fire? Fire... STARPLANETMOONASTRONAUTSPACE!!!" The Space Core, in an attempt to reply properly, just ended up letting go a string of random space-related words, repeating himself often.
"Planet?! Moon?!" the thing seemed very curious about what The Space Core had to say. "Yes. Planet. Atmosphere. Clouds. Gra-" The Space core could not quite manage to say the word 'Grass'. Too non-space-related.

While The Space Core attempted to speak more reasonably, the thing was lifted up and held above the grey cylindrical thing. "Do you smell something burning?" was all it asked before it was dropped into the cylinder.
Its scream rang through the room.
The Space Core stopped talking.
{I let you survive this long because I was curious about your behaviour. Well, you've managed to destroy that part of me.} the sinister voice continued.
The Space Core did not care. At least... not until he re-analysed everything that he had heard the voice say. "Curiosity?" He managed to ask that, and only that, while every circuit of his creation was filled with simulated sadness.
He had glitched and grown an emotion.

But only for her.

The kid pushed against the ground and slid his office chair back from his desk, proud of his work.
"I didn't think I could do it... but I did." he said. "I created the best Portal mod ever." he said, punching the air in joy.
"BRYCE! Come down for dinner!" a womans voice piped up from down the stairs.
"Yeah, coming, mum!" Bryce yelled back.
He was not going to have dinner any time soon.
Bryce slid his office chair up to the desk again, and held his mouse over the tabletop.
"What next?" he asked himself.

So, that was my Portal shipping fanfiction. XD hope you guys liked it, I've always wanted to write something like this for these two! :3
I'm thinking of writing more Portal fanfictions, (most likely shipping ones similar to these XD), but I'm not quite sure what to write about.
Thoughts? Portal fans and random observers?
