I looked carefully at the massive bell clock as it chimed loudly like church bells 'ding dong, ding dong!' it yelled; it was already twelve o'clock. I'd have to get back in a few hours to give myself time to change and hopefully do some of the work so my father didn't have a a huge amount to do tomorrow. The lights looked so hypnotic and was glowing, even though i was far away from it, at this point i felt as if i was so close that is until a girl rudely interrupted me and stepped in front of my amazing view.
The girl was only a little taller than i was, she had dark brown hair with streaks of blond in it and she was wearing a long cardigan with a long azure dress underneath. I looked up at her face, cherry cheeks and big brown eyes were all i could see and then later on the fact that she had rose coloured lips would enter my brain. "What are you doing? Whats your name?" she said i didn't know if i should have answered or not, father to9ld me not to come out of the house let alone talking to strangers "Well? I'm waiting..." She didn't leave, she just stood there with her arms crossed and a curious face on, i tried to look at the city behind her but she would always come in front of me. "Fine, I'll start off. My name is Jae," I looked at her funnily, why was she trying to talk to me and from behind a gate too "and no it's not a boy's name." I never asked her if it was a boy's name or not, she was really frustrating me, i just wanted to see the lights in peace, why wouldn't she just leave me alone?
I decided to finally answer her because she was bugging me so much "Don't you have somewhere to be?" i eventually asked, trying to get rid of her but she slowly nodded from side to side "So what's your name?" she said
"Eun" i replied "But why would you want to know?" She slowly sat down behind the gate in front of me
"Because i want to be your friend," she put her frost white minute hand in through a small hole through the gate, it was obvious she wanted me to shake it so i did. While i was shaking her un-usually cold hand, i wondered why she would want to be my friend all of a sudden, maybe it's because she thinks i'm rich, i am looking really good. "Why are you talking to me?"
"Because i want to know things about you," i didn't answer "so Eun, how long have you been dreaming?"
"What?" i got even more frustrated
"Well, your looking into the city lights as if heaven fell with a bang on earth!"
"Hey, that's what i said!" I smiled at her and she smiled back "I'm glad i'm finally getting to know you then Eun," I smiled again and we began talking.
We were laughing and talking for a while now. I'm finally cheerily talking like the people on the other side and i felt happy. I liked talking to Jae, it was fun, we got to know each other in less then three hours and we realised we were pretty much the same people but in different bodies, we had everything in common. Suddenly, the bell clock chimed again, three o'clock already and i had to make dinner for father and Hyo as well. "I'd better leave then Jae, it was nice getting to know you but I need to go and make dinner for my father and little brother," i said
"Why doesn't your mother do it?" she asked. I felt upset but i didn't get annoyed with her, it wasn't her fault, she never knew. "My..my..my mother..she's not here anymore."
"I'm really sorry, i didn't know, i'm-"
"-It's fine." There was a pause of silence "Huh, well we're having kimchee and moon cakes tonight, there my favourite!" said Jae trying to happy up the mood.
"That's my favourite too!" i yelled before a short laugh
"Maybe you can come over one day and eat dinner at mine," I smiled at Jae "But wait, when will i see you again?"
"I don't know, but don't wait for me," i replied and we both walked away from the gate...
