The sun was setting on the Boulangerie Patisserie, but more specifically on the two superheroines right outside of it. The latest akuma attack had been surprisingly easy compared to the last few for the two. With only an older fellow leading it, Marinette found it rather easy to find weakness in his plan. But now she was stuck with Chat Noir since she hadn't needed to use her Lucky Charm. Nor did he need to use Cataclysm to save the day, so there was no excuse for either to leave.
"So, ma dame, now that we are alone, can I tell you something?" He was scratching the back of his neck out of habit, and she could see the faint outline of muscle under his suit. It scared her to face her feelings, but over the course of the last couple of months, she had begun to lose interest in Adrien and became more attracted to her clad-in-black best friend.
"Of course," she answered lightly, but was nervous nevertheless. He grinned, but paused before he spoke again. He began shifting his weight from foot to foot until he finally went for it.
"J-je t'aime, ma dame... J-je t'aime" I didn't take her long to respond, but enough time for him to worry. Her face was flushed a dark pink, and he worried that he had been too upfront and was scaring her away as she continued to stand there.
"Je t'aime aussi mon chat" It took Chat Noir a moment to realize the weight of those words. A moment to realize that they may be meant to be. And before he could think rationally about it- before his mind could catch up to his body- he was moving in closer, making a move to kiss her. And the second their lips met, everything else melted away. They were no longer on the streets of Paris, but in their own little bubble. He felt her arms wrap around the back of his neck, and moved his hands to cup her cheeks.
It could have been a couple of seconds or a couple of hours for all he knew. But, at the sound of a camera clicking, they crashed back into reality.
"Oh, don't mind me," Alya said, causing Ladybug to move away so quick he could hardly see it. "I'm just here to document this... I think the Ladyblog will appreciate it." She giggled lightly as the two across from her began to panic. From the looks of it, Ladybug was trying to make her escape, so as not to make things worse, he moved towards Alya and tried to think up a way to distract her.
"Of course," he began, "Can I see it? Did you capture my best side?" He smirked at her and began to move closer.
"Any side is your best side." She smiled and turned her phone towards him. He lightly took it in his hands.
"Do you mind?" She shook her head smiling as her faced the screen towards himself, and took a photo, before handing it back. "That's for my fans." He told her, winking. What she didn't know was that he was also making sure that Ladybug was gone by now. Thankfully, she was.
And before Alya could ask anymore questions, he was moving towards the sky, balanced on his staff. He waved to her casually, then went back home.
And when he got there, all he could hear was Plagg telling him to never kiss a girl again while in costume. Because, of course, girls were gross. And yes, they were much worse than cheese.

The second she landed on her terrace, she released her transformation, and sighing, let her back slide down the wall. She sat there, one leg over the other, until the sun began to set. As soon as she uploaded it to her blog, Marinette had expected Alya to come running up her stairs to tell her the good news, but thankfully, she hadn't. She had the area to herself... Or at least that's what she had thought.
The first few times that Chat had come over, he was there to chat lightly with her. Just to catch up with her, but soon that turned into banter, and, within a couple of months, it became a kind of outlet for them to complain about their love lives. Back when she was in love with Adrien, Marinette would go on about him and how he was so out of her league. That was without mentioning his name, obviously. Meanwhile, Chat Noir would talk of his failed romance attempts with Ladybug.
This was not what he was there to do today, and they both knew it.
"Hey, ma princesse. You able to talk? I have some paw-some news for you." The second she saw him land, she had straightened her hair and stood up. She walked up behind him, but tried to stay quiet.
"Of course, mon chaton." She said, causing him to jump.
"Merde, Mari. You almost gave me a heart attack" smirking, he said, "good thing I have nine lives" She frowned at that, and motioned for him to sit down. He moved slowly to join her on the bench.
His ears perked when she spoke again. "Saw your kiss with Ladybug back there. What were the two of you doing in front of my bakery, anyway? Were you planning to just stop by for a pastry?" He nodded sincerely, which made her laugh. "I guess I can get you one... What kind do you want?"
"Surprise me." he said, sneakily. And with that, she left him all alone on the terrace. Only feet away from her room.

Maybe leaving a cat as curious as him to his own devices wasn't so smart, after all.
