3 Years Later.....

Demi's POV:

Today I'm planning the twins' birthday party today. They're going to be turning 6. This is a surprise party, and I can't wait to see the look on Kenzie's face when she sees her surprise. Basically. Wilmer and I have turned the whole backyard into a carnival, because Kenzie wanted to go to the carnival back when it was in town, and Wilmer and I were planning to take Kenzie and leave Kenna home with a babysitter because she'd just ruin the night, but Kenzie got sick and couldn't go. She was very disappointed. So now the backyard is in the process of being turned into a carnival, and Wilmer and I are supervising the workers.

Our backyard is huge, so everything we need will fit in there. The girls are at school, and the school bus won't be here for a couple of hours. Everything is working out so far. The only thing that's out of place from everything else would be a huge stage that I set up for karaoke for Kenzie and her friends. We have invited so many people to this party. The list is a mile long.

Here are just a few of them. Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, One Direction, Five Seconds Of Summer, Marissa Callahan, Joe, Kevin, and Nick Jonas, Taylor Swift, my family, Ariana Grande, Colleen Ballinger is coming as Miranda Sings because Kenzie is obsessed with her, Collins Key is doing magic, and my sister Maddy is going to do aerial so we have some aerial silks set up for her on the stage.

We went all out because the twins turning 6 is a really important step, and I can never say no to Kenzie. I love Kenzie so much. But Kenna I hate. She gets on my nerves when she talks back. She's the most sarcastic 6 year old I've ever met. She's just like Alex, her mother. I don't like that constant reminder of my daughter that's gone.

If it's possible, I miss her more every day. No one should ever have to go through losing a child that early. And then it's even worse that Kenna is a living reincarnation of Alex. It's painful just to look at her, but just watching her do everything is horrible, so I shut her out so I won't have to deal with this constant reminder that Alex is dead and buried. Uncontrollable tears pour from my eyes. I miss her so much. Wilmer's arms wrap around me.

"Hermosa, what's wrong?'' Wilmer's concerned voice breaks through my thoughts.

I wipe the tears from my eyes. "I was just thinking about Alex and, um, Kenna."

"Demi, it's ok. We're planning a surprise party for Kenzie, so don't think about the useless one, alright?" Wilmer says.

"I guess we don't have to worry about Kenna. You're right." I say.

Maddy and Dallas pull up in Maddy's car that she got for her 16th birthday. Wilmer and I go to greet them.

"Hey! How are you guys?" I ask.

"We're fine." Maddy says.

I hug her. "I've missed you, baby girl." I say.

"I missed you too, Dem Dem." Maddy says.

I smile. She used her old nickname for me. That's what she used to call me before she could say Demi. Mom never lets her live it down. Maddy moves from my embrace and hugs Wilmer.  Dallas practically jumps on me.

"Demi!" She squeals.

"Dallas!" I mock her.

"I've missed you. I can't believe we've gone sooooooo long without seeing each other." Dallas says.

"Me too." I say.

"I love what you've done with the place." Maddy says sarcastically.

"Oh yeah? I did it just for you." I say to Maddy just as sarcastically.

"Really? That's so sweet." Maddy says.

"Yes really. It's cause you're my favorite sister." I say.

Dallas gasps. "But you said that was me." She says, pouting playfully.

I shrug. "Not anymore." I say.

Dallas picks me up and runs over to the pool.  "Say I'm your favorite or I'll drop you." She says. Wilmer and Maddy run after us, laughing their butts off.

"But I just got my hair done." I whimper, pouting.

"If that's what you want." Dallas says.

Wilmer and Maddy snicker, smirking, as Dallas  counts, swinging me towards the pool without letting go of me.

"Alright Lovato, this is your last chance." Dallas says.

"Just drop me already! The suspense is killing me" I say.

Dallas swings me one more time, this time dropping me into the frigid water. I swim for the surface and tread water, sputtering. I gasp for air.

"Anyone want to join me? The water is very nice right now." I say.

I wink at Wilmer and he grabs Dallas and doesn't let her go.  He throws her into the water. She comes up sputtering.

"Really Wilmer? That's so childish." Dallas gasps out.

"I was just giving you a taste of your own medicine. And no one treats my hermosa like that." Wilmer says.

Then Wilmer grabs Maddy and jumps into the pool with her. Wilmer swims towards me. He hugs me.

"Are you alright, hermosa?" Wilmer says.

"I'm fine, just a little cold. I'm too old for this." I say with a pointed look at Dallas.

I splash cold water at Dallas. Revenge is so sweet. She splashes water back at me.  Soon we're in the middle of a full out water war. Marissa shows up and jumps in the water with us.

Soon all the rides and tents are set up. We get out of the water and change our clothes. Marissa borrows my clothes but Maddy and Dalllas go into the rooms they use when they're staying at my house and get some clothes they left here.
