I remember the day like it was yesterday.
The red liquid seeped through the gaps between the games messages of 'warning' and 'important message' it was like thick dripping blood running through cracks. Everybody's eyes glued to mysterious object forming in the center. We all guessed it was the game master in the end. Then it was the words he said. Like poison to our ears.
"You cannot log out. This is not a defect. I repeat this is not a defect. Meaning the only way out is by defeating and clearing all 100 floors. And if you die in the game; you die in real life."
To be honest, that would scare the living day lights out of anybody. Even a hard core gamer. It defiantly scared me.
Silence filled the place. But then it was suddenly cut off by shrieks and screams. I wasn't listening to any of because i was in to much shock to even blink an eye.
My thoughts were interrupted when I heard the Game Master say he had put something in our inventories. Like everybody else, I swipe my left hand down to open up the menu. Straight away I went to my items list and at the top it had 6 letters: 'mirror'. I clicked on it although nothing happened. Then people around me started to squeal. Bright flashing glows started to engulf people including me. Seconds later I looked around to see different people. Like the guy next to me who originally had black short hair now had a bald cut. I felt some hair fall into my face. Lifting my hand i went to move it away out of habit from my long hair back in the real world. Then i realized,I looked down into my mirror and saw a perfect reflection if my real I've self. I took several small steps back, dropping the mirror on the floor. It smashed into small blue pixels.
I lifted my hand in front of my face, clenching and un-clenching. I then looked down to my feet. I was even the same height. My very short self. But how...?
Something crossed my mind at that second. If we all look like our real selves then i could probably go find my friends. My friends and I were meant to meet up later on but now we've all been dragged here. Might as well go meet them now.
I started pushing through people saying 'excuse me' and 'sorry' every so often. A blond haired girl stood looking up at the sky with stay tears running down her cheeks.
"Mayonaka! Yo, Mayonaka! Over here." I waved towards her. She looked towards me. Her eyes dull and glistening from tears. I stopped in my tracks. I've never seen Mayonaka like this before. She was always smiling and had the brightest sky blue eyes.
I slowly walked up to her, opening my arms. Pulling he into a hug, I rubbed circles on her back.
"Mayonaka? Have you seen the others?" I asked quietly. She shook her head quickly. I pulled away from the hug, looking at her face. She wasn't crying anymore which was good.
"Stay here. I'm gonna go find the others." I did a two finger salute and turned on my heels. Again, i began pushing and shoving my way through the crowd. This time i saw the two others together.
"Kasai, Shiro!" Their heads darted to their names. They also look grief stricken.
Kasai had red hair and tinted red eyes. She is quite sweet and caring for us, her friends. But never in my life would i expect her to look the way she did now. She was always smiling like Mayonaka. Those two were like sisters to each other. Always cheering each other up when they were sad.
Shiro was one of those sarcastic guys who loved to joke and mess around if you got to know him. He was annoying of course but was really a good guy. However, he was actually suffering from mild depression. We didn't even realize until he told us. Though, he loves playing games. He's done a few dives before too. He has white longish hair with with purple eyes.
"Where's Mayonaka? Is she okay?" Kasai ran up to me, taking hold of my shoulders.
"She's fine. She's over there at the minute. I came looking for you two."
Kasai sighed loudly before running off to where I pointed to. I turned back around to face Shiro.
"Aoi, we're trapped in here. I mean we won't see any friends and family for god knows how long. Aoiro, man. Were fucking trapped. Like fucking trapped." This was recently no the best time to be freaking out Shiro.I took ahold of his shoulder, shaking him back and forward. But that didn't work. So i decided to give him a few slaps I the face. I know he couldn't feel it but maybe it would help.
He was finally calm which was a relief. I decided we needed to get out of here so I took Shiro's hand and guided him towards were Kasai and Mayonaka was.
We got there and saw the two hugging each other tightly. The poor girls. This was only the fourth time they've done a proper dive. It's usually just Shiro and me. I told them we needed to get of of here. They agreed and we began running off past the now unblockeds barrier.
The 4 of us arrived in a market of the Town Of Beginnings. I swiped my left hand down, opening up the digital map.
"Okay. We need to get out of the Town of Beginnings and head to another town as this one will probably be looted clean soon. It'll make much easier and we can take our time. What ya say, Shiro?" I look over to him. He did one of his signature shy smiles with his hand behind his neck.
"Yeah, we better go to this town here." He pointed to a bearish one that wouldn't to long but was reasonably far to give them plenty of time."What are we waiting for! Let's go!" I smiled. And off we ran. Shiro in front, the two girls behind him and then me to keep an eye on the back end so nothing can attack us.
We're going to survive no matter what!
