Chapter 2

 Sorry for such late chapters.. Work and many others things have been taking up my time to write and publish.. anyways hope you like this chapter.. Please post comments at the end to fill me in. thanks

The sun rises but never hits the kingdom for the dark black clouds covering the kingdom.. Morning comes and as usual The queen was on her throne as her adviser and guard Denis stood by her side. She thought of many things as the monsters of the night went back to there human forms to hide into the crowd of humans... As Sarisa the second in command to the throne and town running around killing like a flesh eating, shows no mercy, carnivore, the queen was safe on her throne. She stands up and walks over to her pet dragon 'Nightmare' and pat his snout as he slept "I'm going for a flight and don't get to close or I'll sacrifice you to Satan" she hisses as she climbs on top of nightmare.. he wakes up and growls at Denis before taking flight out the window.. Denis scowls "Whatever yousay M'lady" he mutters to himself and whistles, his dragon flys over from the dragon caves and he climbs up on him and follows behind the queen in the distance.

Flying over the forest the queen stays up ahead in some distance as Denis strides behind.. when he senses movement in the forest.. forest floor, he thinks to his dragon and the dragon lands allowing Denis to hop off Follow the queen back to castle to make sure she gets back safely, He thinks again to the dragon.. The dragon nods then takes back into the air following the queen. Denis sniffed the air with his amazing senses and walked through the forest with his hands in his pockets and his black flippy hair blowing slightly in the cool evening wind.

A young lady named Raine walked along the forest floor, deep in thought.. when she saw the queen on her dragon in the sky she leaped high into a tree to get a better view. Raine goes still when the dragon glances around in her direction. crap! two dragons, Raine thinks when she sees Denis dragon take to the air after the Queen..  when the dragons are a great distance away, Raine jumps down from the tree she was in to walk the path that goes through the forest.. Denis turns quickly when he heard a light thump.. he sees a women jump down from a tree and watches her for a moment curious on what she is up too. The women looks around not sensing or hearing anyone around... meaning she never noticed Denis in the shadows. She walks towards the direction that sounds of rushing water. Denis decided to follow her,wondering what a girl like her is doing out in the woods alone. She felt a presence when the wind blew getting a scent of someone watching..

"Who's there?!" She calls out; Denis grins and turns to a Lycan and jumps down in front of her "Me" He growls... She steps back pulling out her dagger "I'm not scared of you" She says keeping her tone calm as she looks into his eyes. He laughs and morphs back into human "ha ha, don't worry, I'm not hungry" he says closing the distance between them.. he puts his index finger on the tip of the blade and lightly pushes it down "Why don't you put that away before you hurt yourself" he says grinning.

"You wish" She says smiling slightly but leaves her dagger where it is at, watching him closely.  "I was curious why such a beautiful young lady would be walking around the woods at night?" Denis states. "Well I don't know of this pretty young lady that you speak of but I myself go where I choose and I can handle my own." she says re-sheathing her dagger but her eyes stay on him. Denis snickers "sure you can." he says sarcastically... She begs to differ "I can" she protests and to prove her point she turns her back on him and starts walking away, keeping her eyes to the trees in case she needs a quick get away. Denis just smirks and turns to a Lycan and jumps down in front of her again "Allow me to walk you to where you are heading then" he says "Then I will leave you alone" He grins. "Ah I see I have met a gentleman Lycan." she says "But alas you will find no damsel here." she says and walks around him, not caring how intimidating he looks. As relentless as Denis is he stays in his lycan form and follows behind her in the shadows... "If you're just going to follow me anyway you can at least introduce yourself and walk beside me."  she announces and stops walking for Denis to make a decision. He chuckles and changes to human form and walks up beside her "Names Denis" he says with a grin. "I'm Raine."  she says glancing at how handsome he is before resuming her walk with a slight smile that wasn't on her face before. "Ah, I see I can make a woman smile" He says grinning, "Don't flatter yourself. I wasn't smiling because of you" Raine lies as she trys to ignore him playfully. "sure you weren't" he says laughing slightly. Then Raine reaches over and messes up his hair, then she begins laughing too. Denis scowls with a grin "Hey" He says, fixing his hair "Let me guess.. The laughing wasn't because of me" Denis says grinning. "It's not. It's for your hair."  she says smiling, Denis rolls his eyes "Anyways, what are you?" he asks not able to pick up her scent, Raine doesn't answer but picks up her pace on walking. Denis stops walking for a minute, puzzled by her actions then jumps in front of her "I think I asked you a question?" he states... "don't worry if you are human, I'm not gonna eat ya." he smiles, she stops quickly when Denis jumps in front of her  "I have bigger problems then if you were trying to eat me." she says not wanting to tell him what she is,  in case he has heard about a runaway elf with a big price on her head to bring her back home alive. she starts to try and walk around him... Denis steps in front of her again "Just tell me" he says caringly. She could sense he cared but she didn't want him to get involved. "Move." she says simply, hoping he will drop his question and move out of her way. stubbornly Denis stays where he is standing "No, just tell me... Then I will move" He replies. Raine trys to push him out of the way but fails. Denis grabs her arms and pins them at her side "just tell me! what is so bad about it." he asks, not wanting to hurt her... "let me go" she says trying to break from his grasp. Denis sighs "man you are a stubborn woman! just tell me and I will let you go. and even let you walk the rest of the way alone if you want. I wont follow."  he says still holding her in place. She stops squirming "Sorry" She says solemnly before  bringing her knee up and kicking him in the groin. Denis grunts slightly on impact and leans forward slightly as he losses his grip on her and she runs off. "Damn it" He mutters to himself as he regains his composure and stands straight up again and sees that she is long gone. He scowls then walks back to the castle.
