(Above is a picture of Kevin's boss Blake)
Kevin had to take a deep breath to hold his tongue, not to make sure he didn't say anything rude but to keep himself from blurting out a compliment to the new girl. Once he finished his thought from earlier he looked at his boss only to hear him say "Understand?" Kevin blinked a few times at the question as if he were exceedingly confused "Understand what sir?" He asked dumbfounded as he heard the woman giggling quietly in the background among the silence. Blake simply sighed, "Kevin, I just explained to you that you will be helping Ms. Hicks adjust to her job here since she's new." Blake said explaining again since he knew by Kevin's reaction he hadn't heard a word of what he had said before. Kevin gave an embarrassed chuckle before speaking up, "Oh right, I'm sorry sir. I'll get right on that." He said giving a polite smile to the girl. "Ms. Hicks please come this way and I will begin your training." Kevin said kindly as he turned and opened the door for her. The woman nodded and gave a small smile to Blake as if to say thank you before walking out of the office first while Kevin followed behind her with a bright smile gracing his lips, he quietly closed the door before looking at the woman, "Just call me Destiny okay? It's nice to meet you." She said politely as she extended her hand towards Kevin. He smiled and nodded as he reached out and gently shook Destiny's hand, "I'm Kevin Macai but you can call me Kevin." He said with a chuckle as their hands dropped before the two began walking down the hallway. While the two of them made their way back to the main part of the café Kevin explained the rules, do's and dont's, and also their work schedule that they each had to follow. Once he finished they had reached the main area and were seated side by side at the bar stools for lunch break, "Since you're new Destiny would you like some coffee? I'm buying." He offered before gaining a smile from her as she nodded her head yes "That would be nice, thank you Kevin. Um...two cream and three sugar please." Destiny said with a shy smile. Kevin nodded "Of course, one moment please." He said as he walked behind the counter and paid for their two coffees, hers being what she ordered while his was simply black. As he finished making the coffee he poured the correct amounts into each of the plastic cups before handing one to Destiny while sipping his own coffee. "How is it?" Kevin asked hoping that she liked it. Destiny gave a cute giggle as she sipped from her cup, careful not to burn herself as she answered, "It's delicious, thank you Kevin." She said giving him a gentle smile, he returned her smile with a kind one, "You are very welcome." Kevin said, unaware of the friendship the two of them were destined to share.
