It had been a week since I had met Charlie and Logan at the beach. Logan hadn't called or texted me. I wasn't surprised at all, but I did feel a little disappointed because he was very handsome and it would have been nice to see him again.
I was sitting in a room that had three individual couches that were facing each other. There was a glass coffee table in the middle that had a vase with mixed flowers consisting of daisies, lilies, and roses.
I looked around and saw the flat screen tv flashing the E! Channel. To my surprise it was Logan. It was actually of him at the beach with Charlie. They were talking about him and that he was spotted at the beach with someone. Then they showed another picture, only this time it was me in them too. My back was facing the camera. I furrowed my brows in confusion, the press never let anything slip and anything innocent was blown out of proportion.
I couldn't help but roll my eyes and sigh, there was no doubt that this interview was going to be about our encounter. The only problem was that I didn't even know the guy, he didn't even tell me his last name let alone his occupation. I doubt he's a big actor otherwise I would have recognized him somehow.
If they were talking about him then he must be followed around by the press a lot. Then what was he famous for?
I turned at the sound of the door opening as two girls walked in. They were dressed with the latest fashion trends. They offered a warm smile which I gladly returned.
"Hello Ms. Langston, my name is Claire and this is my colleague Rachel. We are going to be interviewing you today."
"It's nice to meet you guys, but please call me Carmen." I said with a smile.
They smiled and proceeded with the interview.
"Our first question is obviously going to be about the handsome Logan Vitalis, are you two seeing each other ?"
"I just met him yesterday at the beach, as you guys saw from the pictures taken by the paps. Like, I don't even know the guy, I didn't even know his last name let alone what his occupation is."
She nodded as they both jotted my response down. They asked a few more irrelevant questions that were responded with short answers.
Soon enough the interview ended and I went home. I checked my phone in the hopes of a text or a missed call from Logan. There was nothing but a text from my best friend Nancy.
Hey girly, let's have some lunch?
I responded with a quick yes, it was always good to see Nancy. She never failed to raise my spirits. Unlike me, Nancy actually had a boyfriend. He was an architect and a very nice guy.
I had known Nancy since the third grade, she was a foreign exchange student. She was so sweet and bubbly, she had a thick Italian accent that has now diminished with the pass of the years. Her family was very wealthy, she would constantly try to give me elaborate gifts which I would deny. She was always there for me and I was always there for her.
I arrived at the bistro that we usually met up at, it was our favorite. She was already seated at a table outside that had an umbrella which offered shade from the beating sun. I handed my keys to the valet.
I was seated with her and greeted her with open arms.
"Nancy! It's so good to see you, how was your vacation with Andrew?"
"It was amazing, I wouldn't call it vacation. It was more of a business trip to Brazil."
"But you had fun nonetheless."
"I did indeed." She smiled widely, she looked like she was glowing.
"You seem very happy, spill."
She chuckled and dropped her head.
"How do you always know?"
"Come on Nancy I've known you for most of my life how could I not know you?"
She simply raised her left hand to reveal a huge diamond on her dainty finger.
"Nancy?! How did, when, where?! You have to tell me every single detail, don't leave anything out."
Our waiter came and took our order and quickly left. Nancy proceeded to tell me her story of how she was proposed to. I was so happy for her, she was an amazing person and deserved the best. Then I felt sorrow for myself, I'm 21 and not getting any younger, I'm still single. My future isn't looking very bright.
She waved her hand in front of me, I came out of my trance.
"I said, what's with that dreamboat that was at the beach?"
I couldn't help but roll my eyes.
"It's just some guy that was with his nephew at the beach, Max just so happened to wander off and Charlie found him."
"Oh, he's very handsome. Do you even know who he is?"
I shook my head as I took a bite from my salad.
"Oh Zoe you're so naïve! Logan Vitalis is the ceo of Vitalis industries. They own multiple hotels around the world, they also own an airline company."
My head was spinning because I realized that I had stayed in one of his hotels once.
"His brother is a widower, his wife died in a car accident about two months ago and he was left to the care of his only son. They both run the company but Logan is the rightful owner as the firstborn son."
"How do you know about this?"
"Well we just had dinner with him and his brother this past week, the business deal that we went to Brazil for was because they contracted Andy for a new hotel they want to build there. The deal went great and Andrew is working on it now."
I was shocked at how much she knew about them, she must meet so many important business people because of Andrew's occupation. We finished our food and said goodbye.
Once I got home I opened my laptop to google him. Everything that Nancy said was right, he was the owner and the eldest. He was 26 and his brother was 24 years old. They were both very attractive. It all made sense now.
I heard my phone vibrating on my nightstand. I got up to go check it and was shocked to see that it was Logan.
