"Dr. Griffith, there's gotta be something you can do." Elaine said in a frantic voice. "He's been suffering from headaches and strange visions on and off these past few days."

Dane lay on the bed but was conscious enough to hear his mom and the psychiatrist. Frank's suggestion didn't seem to work. Letting the voices in gave him a hard time. It was as though everyone was trying to take over him.

"I told you his case is ... unique. I've never seen anything like this. It's like he's suffering from a number of mental conditions but none of them at the same time," Dr. Griffith responded.

"But ... But that can't be true --"

"Like I told you before, this is beyond me."

"What about another doctor?"

"I can refer you to a neurosurgeon or a behavioral therapist." Dr. Griffith sighed.

Elaine whimpered. "I thought that guy you introduced my son's case to could help."

"What guy?"

"Frank Astor?"

"I don't know him. Never referred your son's case to anyone yet."

"What do you mean..."

The voices faded as the sedative took effect on Dane's brain.
