Silence.
It deafened him.
As he regained his hearing, he heard a woman's voice call his name - a familiar voice. A caring voice.
"Sam!! Sam? You're never usually this late for school, you must've worked hard last night. You're going to be late for school.", the yelling continued, "Sam! Sam! You've overslept"
Sam slowly opened his eyes. His room. Strange. He sat up. He was in his bed. Right where he belonged.
"Thank god it was just a dream" he announced aloud, completely relieved yet mystified that that was just a dream when it felt so real.
