Dan’s POV:

Math class, I’m sitting here in my least favorite class ever with the absolute worst people ever. Well, every single person in this town is the worst, they’re all scumbags. There was supposed to be a new student today, but he or she hasn’t showed up yet. Not that it matters, they’re bound to be as equally as scumbaggy as every other student here, and I’ll want nothing to do with them, just like everyone else. There was a sudden- yet soft knock on the door. Who knocks on a classrom door? The student walked inside slowly and hesitantly. The teacher immediately stopped what he was doing and gestured toward the boy. “Class, this is the new student, I’m sure you’ve heard about him.” The first thing I notice about him is he’s wearing band shirt. Not just any band shirt, a Muse shirt. Maybe this person isn’t scum. “You can sit right there next to Dan.” The teacher said, pointing to an empty seat next to mine. The boy walked to the seat slowly, not making eye contact with anyone, and sat down. I decided I should at least try to talk to him, I need a friend anyway. “I like your shirt.” I said smiling, just loud enough for him to hear. He jumped slightly; looking towards me he mumbled what I can only assume to be a “Thank you”. A couple seconds later he asked “You listen to Muse?” I was surprised someone who seemed so shy would actually try to engage in conversation. “Yeah, I do.” I said, still smiling. “I assume you do too?” I gestured to his shirt. He chuckled. “Yeah, I do.” “I’m Dan.” I said holding out my hand. “I’m Phil” he replied, taking my hand and shaking it. The bell rang only a couple seconds later. It was lunch time; I assumed I was the only person Phil knew so far. “Umm, do you want to eat lunch with me?”

Phil’s POV:

“I would love to!” I answered happily. “Okay, meet me outside the cafeteria.” He said going to his locker. I went to my locker, put my books inside and put my money in my pocket. I sighed and followed the crowd of students going to the cafeteria. I saw Dan there, waiting, as he said he would be. “So, Phil, how are you enjoying the new school?” He asked plainly after a few moments of silently walking to the lunch line. I thought for a minute. “Hmm, It’s okay I guess” I said slowly. “Honestly,” Dan began. “I hate it here. I hate the people too.”  “Is it really that bad?” I wondered aloud. “In my opinion, yes, it is. Everyone else seems pretty happy here, but that’s because they’re all sluts and douches, they’re with their own kind.” He chuckled at the last part. “That’s why I was so quick to compliment your shirt, finally someone I have at least one thing in common with.” I smiled. “Well, I hope we can be great friends.”

IMPORTANT!!!!!
I'm re-writing this, and changing the point of view to third person (as it's somewhat easier for me to write). So in the process, the earlier chapters will be written in third person, and the more recent ones will be in first person. Eventually all of them will be in third person. Just a heads up!
