Drabble #11 - Jikook angst

Nothing like us

10 years.

It's been 10 years since that day.

It's been 10 years since Park Jimin left Jeon Jungkook.

It's been 10 years since that heart-breaking scene.

//10 years ago//

"Jimin you're just kidding right?" Jungkook's tears was on the verge from falling. His lips were trembling as he tries to stop himself from crying.

He looks at Jimin who is standing in front of him. Cold eyes staring back at him with an emotionless face.

"No. I'm serious Jungkook"

Jungkook.

Oh.

So it's Jungkook now.

Not Kookie.

No. This is wrong. Everything seems wrong.

Jimin's eyes were always cheerful and full of love for Jungkook. His face was always bright and happy and sometimes flushed red because of blushing because of Jungkook. His cold voice was so sweet as he called him 'Kookie'.

This is not the Jimin he knew. This person is not the Jimin hyung he loved.

Jungkook laughed bitterly.

No.

This is just a dream.

It's impossible for Jimin to push him away.

"Hyung stop joking. Or maybe I'm dreaming? I better wake up then."

"Jungkook."

"Hyung can you wake me up now with your kisses and hug tight? Just like what you always do?"

"Everything is real Jungkook. This is reality. Let's break up."

A tear escaped Jungkook's left eye.

Then another fell.

Then another.

Until Jungkook's eyes turned into a waterfall of tears.

"Hyung..."

"I'm sorry. Someday...you'll understand why I'm doing this."

"Why don't you tell it to me now then?"

"I can't."

"Then don't leave."

"Jungkook I can't do that too."

"Why are you being unfair?! Tell me why are we breaking up! Tell me why you are leaving me all of a sudden! Why...why are you being like this hyung?! Why are you like this all of a sudden?!" Jungkook completely broke down.

He fell on the floor. Still crying. As Jimin coldly looked down on him.

"..."

"Now you're not answering?" Jungkook scoffed. "I don't understand anything. We were just fine yesterday. Now...all of a sudden you're telling me to break up? WHAT KIND OF BULLSHIT IS THIS PARK JIMIN?!"

"Just...I'm sorry."

"Sorry doesn't answer anything."

Jimin closed his eyes and turned away from Jungkook.

"I'm sorry...someday...someday you'll know why."

"That's bullshit."

"I'm sorry."

"Stop saying sorry. Don't leave if you're sorry. Tell me this is all just a prank."

"I hope it is but no."

"..."

"I love you."

"Then why are you leaving me?"

"I'm leaving because I love you."

"That doesn't make any sense hyung!"

Jungkook is so frustrated. Jimin's words are confusing him.

He wipes away his tears and looks up at Jimin.

His hyung took a step towards the door.

"Jimin I'm warning you."

Then another step.

"Jimin once you walk out of this room, you can never return to this place."

Jimin smiled sadly as a tear fell from his eye. But Jungkook wasn't able to see this.

"You'll be fine without me Jungkook. I know. You would."

Those are the last words Jungkook heard from Jimin.

After that, Jimin completely disappeared from Jungkook's life.

For 10 years, Jungkoom endured everything.

He tried to forget Jimin.

He tried to move on.

He tried to find a new love.

He tried to carry on.

He tried to pretend that he's strong.

He tried to convince himself that he's fine.

But all of those failed.

Jimin has become a part of Jungkook's system.

"You'll be fine without me Jungkook. I know. You would."

Liar. Jungkook thought to himself.

Jimin lied to him.

He wasn't okay. He never was. The day Jimin left him he forgot what the word 'okay' feels like.

The day Jimin walked out of his life was the day he knew he would never be fine again.

Jungkook's not strong enough without Jimin on his side.

Jungkook closed his eyes for a minute then opened it again to look at Jimin.

It's been 10 years since then.

It's been 10 years since Jungkook met with Jimin.

Jungkook completely lost contact with Jimin within those 10 years.

He wouldn't think he would meet Jimin again in a form of a grave stone.

It's been 10 years since Jimin was diagnosed with leukemia.

"You should've told me. Atleast you didn't have to suffer alone."

Jungkook touched the gravestone with Jimin's name engraved on it.

"You're always so kind. Thinking of others first before yourself."

Jungkook smiled sadly and slowly walked away from the place.

He rode his car and started the engine.

He looked up at the sky and smiled softly.

"See you soon hyung."
