"Robin, What's Valentines Day?"

NARRATOR's POV;

The little girl watched in confusion as Mr and Mrs Stefan shared a couple of smooches to the cheek and warm little hugs. Whereas, little mischievous Robin snickered whilst clutching his belly at the lost expression his best friend gave.

"Psst, Robin! What are they doing?!", little Scarlett squeaked out and frantically covered her bright eyes.

"Aww..don't you know?", Robin made his way towards the girl and slowly moved her chubby hands away form her blushed face, "it's Valentines Day."

The little girl couldn't have looked any more confused as she was in deep thought.

"Robin, what's Valentines Day?"

Robin looked more than ready to burst out in a fit of laughter as the girl popped one cheek out and furrowed her eyebrows.

"What's funny?! Just tell meeeee!", she stomped her stubby foot on to the tiled floor.

"Hehe, alright, let's go for a little walk", Robin exclaimed with a huge but soft smile on his face as he lead the girl by the hand to the back garden...

A startled Mrs Stefan gasped as the kids were missing, "Steve! What on earth were you busy doing rather than watching the kids!"

The aggravated wifey threw her hands up in the air.

"I-I was...k-kissing you, Hon", her husband brought out shakily, clearly dead afraid of his angered wife.

"Kissing me! Well, you better be back with the kids before I ring up Cailey", she fumed before trudging towards the kitchen.

"Sigh.... Now, where are those blasted kids!"

.........

"So, Valentines is the day that all yucky couples, like Ma and Pa, do all these..icky, lovey-dovey stuff, like make babi-"

"Ewww! Robinnnn!", Scarlett covered her face in disgust at the little boy's statement.

"Buhahahahah!", he bursted out laughing, "you should have seen your face!"

"Wahhh! Stop!", Scarlett shook her head vigorously.

"Hahaha, c'mon, I bet your parents do the same things."

Silence hung over the air like a persistent stench and something quickly dawned on poor little Scarlett.

"My parents...?", she whispered as her eyes began to tear.

"Uh oh! No, don't you cr-"

"WAHHHHH!", the water works had overflowed as Scarlett sobbed into her chubby arm.

"Argh! You big cry baby", Robin sighed as he slowly embraced the quivering girl.

All at once, her sobs seized. She gazed into the smiling face of Robin.

"Wh-what?", the boy stammered, quite embarrassed.

"Do...couples do this kind of thing on Valentine's Day..?", the little girl scanned the boy's arms that were wrapped around her securely.

"Erm...", he gulped in reply, "I guess so..."

Scarlett slowly began to lower her head into the chest of the boy and squeezed him to her tighter.

Robin froze, clearly taken aback by her actions but nonetheless, savoured the moment.

Meanwhile...

"Oh! Oh, look, Steve! Ain't that the cutest thing ever?", Mrs Stefan shook her husband by the arm and pointed over to a hugging little couple.

"My lord, he's just like me! Making moves on the ladies- OOF!"

"Don't you dare call my son a player", Amy shook her head angrily.

They were hiding behind some bushes as the kids hugged it out...

"Oh Steve! Get the camera, quick! This moment shall not pass!", the wife whacked the husband on the head as he quickly scurried over towards the house

"Yes wifey!"

A click, followed by a flash startled the kids as they flew apart from each other.

The boy looked in horror at his mom, who was currently holding up a camera, "MOM!!! Noooooo!"

He blushed in embarrassment as all the girl could do was chuckle.

"H-hey, Scarlett!", he whined as she had betrayed him.

"Aw, now, I know just where to put this", his mom grinned.

Amy, Steve, Robin and Scarlett beheld the picture of love as it was hung up in their tree house; a place of warm memories.

Steve sighed happily as he side hugged his wife; Amy, while Scarlett clutched the arm of Robin who was smiling deep down inside with glee.

"Ah...this was a jolly good ole' day!", Steve chuckled.

"Jolly good ole' day indeed", his wife agreed on the idea.

'I will remember this moment, forever...', Robin thought, silently promising Scarlett; his secretly loved companion and best friend.
